My first visit to Botanic Café unfortunately did not live up to expectations. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and was seated outside. There were problems with the WiFi constantly going in and out so I tried to move inside but experienced the same problem. I also ordered a lunch special and after taking a bite I noticed that the produce sticker was still on the tomato. I took the sandwich myself back to the kitchen to show someone, I found either a cook or a kitchen aide and he just looked at it. He did not offer to replace it or refund the sandwich. I was let down by the lack of attention to detail and customer service.

I absolutely love this cafe. I can’t just call it a coffee shop because the food is soooo good. I always go with seasonal drinks and food, not once have I’ve been disappointed. The building it self is very comfortable, and just so homey with its well botanic feel.

The cranberry turkey melt was to die for! Salmon avocado wrap could’ve used a little more flavor for me but good nonetheless, all fresh veggies and everything.
The coffee is the best coffee I’ve had in years. If you live close by you NEED to come try this coffee.

Backyard kitchen
I have eaten here 3 or 4 times in the span of 2 years I think. I have never been disappointed. The food is always incredible, the service is friendly and efficient and it’s a very clean and charming environment. I was very happy to see on my last visit they have expanded inside and have more inside seating although when it’s warm out the back garden is my favorite place to sit.

Really earthy place. I got the Turkey Club, my girlfriend got the Turkey Cranberry Panini and we both loved it! Atmosphere was fun, highly recommend swinging on by and grabbing some coffee!

The atmosphere was very soothing and unique inside and the mural in the eating area was done well. Staff was very friendly and helpful about the menu. The Mamma Mia iced latte was not very flavorful, the espresso was not very strong, and the chai was a bit watery. The salmon avocado wrap had great tasting salmon in it, but hard avocado that probably hadn’t ripened just yet. They had high chairs available for children but the bathroom at the entrance did not have a changing table. There were other bathrooms, but they looked closed off in the upstairs – I think it was an event area?

My favorite of the coffee shops down here in St Mary’s County. Plenty of food options (including a good selection of vegan choices) and a nice variety of tasty desserts and baked goods as well. Their espresso drinks are excellent, and they swap out their seasonal drinks pretty frequently. Now that they’ve expanded, they’ve got plenty of seating and the atmosphere is super cozy… Plus theres an outdoor section that’s dog friendly! They’ve also recently added the option to get your drinks in a mug or glass if you’re eating in. Parking lot is a bit of a mess tho
