If you haven’t made it here yet, do yourself a favor and go. I stopped in recently and I’m still thinking about this meal. The staff is amazing with their suggestions.

I ordered the roasted chicken and it was absolutely amazing. This wasn’t your typical dry, bland rotisserie situation; this chicken was seasoned all the way through. Every single bite had flavor. The meat was moist, tender, and you could tell everything was fresh. It’s clear they know what they’re doing with their pollo a la brasa.

The fries that came with it were the real deal too. Fresh, homemade, perfectly seasoned. And the salad on the side was crisp and fresh, which honestly is a detail a lot of places overlook. Not here.

To top it all off, I had a cappuccino and a slice of their Peruvian chocolate cake. Outstanding. Not too sweet. Im not a sweets person but when the waitress told me she made it fresh herself, I had to try. The cake was rich and decadent, and paired perfectly with the cappuccino to close out the meal. If you have any kind of sweet tooth, don’t skip dessert here.

It’s a Peruvian spot with a bakery component too, and the quality shows across the board. Whether you’re already a fan of Peruvian food or you’ve never tried it, this place is worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back.

I was in American Fork looking for something different and stopped by this Peruvian spot on a whim. The menu covers a nice range of Latin American staples (lomo saltado, ceviche, arepas, pupusas) so there’s something for everyone. The service was great. Our server walked me through the menu and made a few recommendations, which I appreciated since it was my first visit.

I played it safe and went with the lomo saltado. It was delicious and hit the spot. I also grabbed a couple of pupusa platters to bring home to the kids. Everybody was happy.

I love finding little restaurants like this. Our community could use more places like it and fewer chain restaurants. What a gem.

I’ll be back to work through the rest of the menu.

My husband and I were looking for more local dining options and we’d never heard of this place. It’s hidden behind Gourmandise so it’s not really visible from Main Street. We parked in front and noticed the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty. We almost didn’t go in because we were worried it was a sign that the food wasn’t good. Luckily we decided to give it a chance because it was AMAZING!! The sauces were delicious and there wasn’t one thing that didn’t taste great. Definitely try it out so they don’t go out of business.

I tried this little hole in the wall place tonight. This place serves authentic Peruvian/Latin dishes. The servers were very kind and helpful. This place is a nice family business. I got the Bisteck A Lo Pobre. Though flank steak isn’t my favorite cut, I still thought it was tasty 🙂 a bit overcooked to my liking, but that’s because there was a language barrier. I was not able to effectively communicate that I would like my steak rare. I also got the Causa De Langostinos. The shrimps were cooked perfectly! The pupusas came out so fresh! Typically, I am not a fan of them but this place made them so delicious! Nice family restaurant. I wish them all the best in their business endeavors. This place looks to be pretty new.

We absolutely loved our experience coming here! The service was perfect. We got a bottle of Inka Cola… highly recommend ᵕ̈ I ordered the arroz chaufa de mixto (chicken & steak)— it was absolutely to die for!! The portion size was generous, the sauces they had were delicious, and the dish was SO flavorful and satisfying. I will be coming back and bringing friends! And I will be dreaming about the chaufa for the foreseeable future

I really enjoyed the food and the overall experience. This is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve visited in the valley in terms of flavor and customer service.

As a personal preference, I think the fries would be even better if they were fresh and hand-cut, but overall the quality of the food is great.

I’d especially like to mention Angie — she provides excellent service. Even from a distance, you can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and that makes a big difference in the experience.

Highly recommended.

We recently visited Mar y Tierra, and I want to be fair in this review because the food was genuinely good, but the service struggled significantly the night we were there.

Starting with the positives:
The ceviche was fresh, well-balanced, and enjoyable. The leche de tigre was excellent, bright, and properly seasoned. We also ordered the lomo saltado / risotto dish, which was solid and satisfying. Nothing over the top or mind-blowing, but well executed and enjoyable—food I’d happily order again.

Now the service:
Unfortunately, it was very rough. It felt like only one employee was working most of the evening. We watched multiple tables walk out after waiting too long for service. We had to ask for water after the food had already arrived. There were not many diners in the restaurant, which may be connected to the service issues we witnessed.

The space itself is simple and clean, and the kitchen is clearly doing its part. Because the food was good, I’m giving this a four-star rating, hoping this was just an off night rather than the norm.

That said, if Mar y Tierra can fix the service side and staff appropriately, this place has the potential to be something special. The food deserves better support out front.

My wife and I went there for the first time and we both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. I ordered the arroz chaufa de pollo and it was seasoned perfectly. Our server also recommended some pickled radishes and they went perfectly with the meal. My wife ordered a breaded chicken dish that she enjoyed as well. The only concern she had was that the serving portion was too big. Our server was great! The only blemish was that we asked for water without ice and they brought us water glasses with but it wasn’t a biggie. I would certainly go back!
