At Luigi’s they do it right. I don’t know if it is because they sell pizza by the slice but their crust is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Even after a long ride in the car the crust had a crunchy outside texture with a perfect balance of chewy dough. The sauce had the perfect flavor and a balanced acidity with sweetness. Although I have not tried them, people who have had the sausage roles and the Stromboli swear by it. They are unfortunately 30+ miles from where we live but if we are in the neighborhood we definitely make a point of stopping by.

Definitely a hidden gem. Came in on a whim because I saw good reviews and was on the hunt for a good slice to go. There were several pizza options in the display and ready to order which I love about a pizza spot. I ordered a Sicilian sausage/red pepper, pepperoni hot honey and a white slice. I would have stayed to eat at one of the few small tables but the baby was in the car. The pizza looked so amazing I ate some right in the parking lot it did not disappoint. The crust on the Sicilians was perfect and flavor was delicious. White pie was also simple and perfect. Can’t wait to try the cheese!
It was great to meet and interact directly with the owner, Paul. He explained how he bought the business from his parents and has been in his family for decades with roots in Brooklyn and Italy. He even threw in a free cheese slice because he knew I was a new customer! Nice guy and love to see the passion for a small family business. In my short time there, Monday afternoon, several people came in to order to sit and for takeout which said to me they have a good customer base which is a good sign.
Moving to Roxbury from Bergen County a few years ago we still haven’t quite settled on our favorite pizza spot yet. I’d say this is in the running for our favorites and we will be back!!

I had a frustrating experience here. I waited in line, and when it was finally my turn, I told the cashier I just wanted to order slices. Instead of taking my order, she skipped me and helped the next customer. I waited a few minutes thinking she would come back to me, but she then took another person’s order as well.
This felt dismissive and showed poor customer service. Customers shouldn’t be ignored after waiting their turn. I hope management addresses this so others don’t have the same experience.

Another weekend in late May, 2023, we decided to venture down to this neck of the woods to shop and drive to Hackettstown for our fave restaurant.
As we entered the mall, we saw constant foot traffic to Luigi’s and stopped in for a few slices.
Pizza 101: sauce, crust, toppings!
The young man behind the counter explained his technique to a great pizza.
The window was filled with whole assorted pizza pies and random slices, so we ordered a few and took a booth.
Nicely done!
Overall, tender crust, awesome sauce with fresh toppings.
Thank you for cooking!

Came here from a recommendation of my friend that his grandmother is from the area. Staff was great, really enjoyed the pie. Had a grandma slice and a regular. The grandma is really good as is the regular too.

The pizza is great. Tried regular crust and cauliflower crust. Undercarriage was perfect, good sauce, tastes great. Their eggplant parm was huge, enough for two. Been coming here for a long time. Great place.

Luigi’s is great old school pizza. Never a bad slice. We routinely leave our hometown to come here; in a market with lots of great choices for pizza, Luigi’s is our choice. Tonight was a simple pie, a little extra done as we requested. Add a small order of buffalo wings and a salad, we’re set. My wife likes that they have fountain birch beer. Their crust is perfect, never disappoints.
It is a hidden gem in a shopping mall, that’s outlived quite a few other restaurants. We’ve met some great people over the years in this hometown gem. The artwork on the walls is fun to explore.

Luigis pizza is awesome. Paulie knows how to make a good cheese pizza. Had a cheese and onion pizza for lunch.
Edit just stopped by Luigi’s Pizza for a couple of slices of Pizza and it was made to perfection.

Glossiest pizza ever. Dough was soggy, sopping in oil and undercooked. It cost $14.95 for 3 slices. I’d give 0 stars. Google is gracious
