Food was great! I got the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap and it was awesome. My girlfriend got chicken strips and beer battered fries and she thought it was very good too. Owner came and talked to us, was very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

This was our first visit but it won’t be our last. We love little private out of the way joints where the food is good and the service is better. South Side did that for us tonight. What was impressive were the very fair prices and more than that the one staff person that was doing it all. She was bartending, waiting tables and cooking. All with a smile. Didn’t catch her name but she did a great job. She got a better tip for that. She also dealt with a loud unruly customer very civilly and that takes skill. We found the unruly customer amusing but we were still impressed.

Recently my family and I had lunch here after doing our Memorial Day grave decorating. This building is special to us, as our father, and grandfather, once owned it. The current owner went out of his way to welcome us and to acknowledge our history with his building, telling us we were free to roam and check out anything we liked. He even shared written histories of Cresco with us that included information about our dad.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the homemade rhubarb pie was the piece-de-resistance! It is a family operation, and we made friends not only with the owner, but his wife (the talented chef and pie maker!) and his step-daughter, who took over as our waitress.
This is a cozy, clean, friendly place that won’t break the bank. Stop here whenever you’re in Cresco!

Really good burgers, priced just right. Cash only, just a heads up. Owner was a nice guy, he made sure that he introduced himself and that we had a positive experience.

We went in to hang flyers for a benefit, we asked if we could hang a flyer. We also asked if he would like to donate, instead of saying he was not interested, he lied and said we would have to come back when owner was in. I know for a fact he was the owner. Pretty sad he done this in front of his employees. Have no respect for a man that feels he has to lie when he could of just said, I’m sorry no thanks. Will never return!
