First time ordered food at South Sea Thai Kitchen. At first we were confused where to park, but we figured it out to park in the back. Table only two inside left and right.
Luckily we were planning to order for pick up anyway.
The lady that was on the phone is the same as the one who interacts with me today and she was not that friendly nor to rude basically there’s no smile or welcoming vibes.
Papaya salad $8.99 with adding 4pcs of shrimp extra cost $4 a bit pricey to my opinion but since I was the one who wanted and asked for shrimp I guess I had to accept it.
Shrimp drunken noodles was not the best, I had better somewhere else. They used different type of sauce.
Basil fried rice with shrimp was pretty good.. they put carrots a bit too much though. Carrots sliced flowers, carrots julienne cuts. Also they need to update the price on their website because didn’t match. Lemongrass soup for $7.99 that mostly broth and 3 small shrimp is overpriced.
Lastly level 1 is pretty spicy to me but the spiciness that I still can handle it. I like spicy but not that much. For people that don’t eat spicy at all need to tell them if they can make it not spicy on the dish.

I was kind of surprised when I got here. Maybe because I didn’t see much interior photos of this restaurant online. This is actually not a regular restaurant, but more like a take out place with a few tables and chairs. Although it is clean and nice, but space is limited. It is definitely not suitable for a large group nor family with baby strollers. They have parking spaces in the rear behind the restaurant. The entrance is narrow! I nearly pass that when it is right next to the restaurant.

How about their food? It is not the best, but not the worst. My husband and I thought the food was a bit bland. It got taste but not flavorful enough compare to other Thai cuisine we have tried. We ordered the Tom yum noodle soup with shrimps. We thought it wasn’t sour enough for a tom yum soup base. We also ordered a Papaya salad, a Massamam curry with chicken, and a Thai coffee. None of those really makes me feel ooo or surprised. The Papaya salad was not anything special. The Massamam curry wasn’t too bad. Sweet and a hint of spicy with some taste of coconut milk. But the chicken was a bit rough. The Thai coffee was surprisingly sweet to me. Personally, I’m not a big fan of Thai tea cause too sweet to me, but I didn’t expect the coffee would be sweet too. Overall, I would try once, maybe not so much of a second time on my own.

This is my first time I ordered from South Sea Thai Kitchen, and it’s also my first time trying out Thai food. The lady that gave me the food today was really friendly and I ordered off Yelp and I didn’t know it used grub hub. She let me know that grub hub is more expensive. And she told me to call them next time to order for cheaper price.

She is very helpful. Thank you and I really enjoyed the food! I ordered a vegetarian fried rice. It was the right amount of spice, not too overpowering which is great. I will order from here again 🙂

Had beef drunken noodle and it was impressive in taste. It didn’t taste typical but slightly more spicy with lesser amount of brown sauce (?). Every ingredient in it tasted fresh and it was properly cooked. Thai iced tea was served in the bottle that looked like a milk bottle. It also tasted great! Dining in is not offered at this restaurant and actually, I felt like I picked up my food from someone’s house. And I’ve noticed many stores and restaurants look like residential houses in Philly. I will try another menu next time.

The lemongrass soup was delicious, robust flavor with a kick. The drunken noodles dish was my least favorite of any thai restaurant I’ve eaten from before. The main issue was the noodles, they are supposed to be flat, wide and thin. These were not, the texture was more like wheat pasta and I would guess they came out of a bag… The flavor of the sauce was just ok.

This is my first time trying Thai food, everything is so horrible, the coconut soup has very strong weird smells, the noodles is the worst noodles I have tried in my entire life, even the curry dish tastes terrible also. Oh my goodness, we will never try Thai food again in my lifetime.

The food here was so good. Their chicken Satay and calamari appetizers were delicious. I ordered the Thai bamboo with chicken and beef which was very tasty and filling. Ordering online seems to be the best way to order. Their online service was quick and easy to use and I could find everything I wanted to order and customize the items how I wanted. Lastly their Thai tea and coffee were amazing. I highly recommend ordering one or the other with your food. We’ll definitely order here again.

There are two tables where you can eat your food. Beware: It is not a restaurant proper, but a take out. Good thing, my friends and I could stay talking for a long time, longer than we would have been able to in a regular restaurant, without fear of depriving others from a place to sit and eat.
