The drinks were excellent, the Parker House rolls were unreal (perfect texture with rich, flavorful butter), and the jalapeño fritters were outstanding. The katsu sandwich was an absolute all-star, and the porterhouse was one of the best we’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Sides like the mac and cheese and potatoes were just as impressive, and the chocolate profiterole was an amazing way to end the meal.
Service was fantastic across the board—our waiter Paul was phenomenal and made the night even better with great champagne to start the dinner! An exceptional experience from start to finish! Can’t wait to return!
From the moment we sat down, it was clear that Matt approaches hospitality as a craft, not a job. He was attentive without hovering, confident without ego, and incredibly knowledgeable. His recommendations — both cocktails and menu selections — were absolutely spot on and elevated the entire meal. Every suggestion felt intentional and perfectly matched to the cuisine.
What truly sets Matt apart is his passion. He spoke about inventing his own cocktails, clarifying bourbons, and constantly refining his techniques so that his bar program could stand at the same level of excellence as the kitchen. Watching him work was genuinely part of the experience. Each drink was balanced, thoughtful, and beautifully executed.
It’s rare to encounter someone who holds themselves to such a high standard and delivers it so effortlessly. Matt didn’t just make great drinks — he elevated the entire evening. PGA National is fortunate to have someone like him behind the bar, and we will absolutely be back because of the experience he creates.
While in town for work, I made a reservation to bring clients here. I definitely recommend doing reservations as the place was packed and time slots were getting booked. I went on a weekday night.
The biggest thing we noticed was the noise level, I’m not talking about music. I don’t think there was any music, but other customers. It was so loud that we couldn’t hear each other, we were screaming or could only talk to the person sitting next to us. I was a little embarrassed, not a great look for a business dinner.
Service was terrible the beginning of the night. I assume it was probably because it was so busy, he looked stressed. As people were leaving, our service got better.
Food was delicious, hands down 10/10. No complaints about the food! Everything we tried was great.
Overall, still a great place for food! Just be cautious if doing a business dinner here that it’s really loud and could be difficult to discuss business.

The restaurant inside the PGA Club is a modern sophisticated setting with soft lighting and warm wooden highlights.
The menu is diverse, and everything we tried was outstanding! Tony, our server, was a delight — well informed, friendly, efficient and humorous.
Although we initially planned to try one of their many steaks (it’s called the Butcher’s Club for a reason), after perusing the menu we settled on a different plan.
I started with the steak tartar, which was the best I have ever had. Smoothly chopped meat, seasoned with a spicy combination of ingredients: pickled ramps, gremolata, egg yolk, madeira espuma and truffle waffle fries. I followed with the grouper francaise, in a tangy lemon sauce with
brown butter, capers, hazelnuts, green beans. Amazing! The best ever!
My dining companion enjoyed a caesar salad and the truffle chicken. The chicken was moist with a slight taste of infused truffle butter. Black winter truffles are available as an extra, but she declined those (I would have added them if it was my dinner!)
The prices are high, but for special occasions, this is a special experience!
Oysters were small and mediocre. Steak and experiences were outstanding!
As well as deserts delicious!
If in the area and love golfing, we would come back:)
