Stopped here for a quick breakfast on my way to Costco (big Saturday plans you know). There were so many choices both sweet and savory. I got the breakfast BLT and a latte and they were fantastic. The BLT was filling and I really liked the bread. I want to come back to try the pastries.

Plenty of seating and street parking. Great atmosphere.

Limited vegetarian options and unwilling to swap out bacon. Gummy overcooked bagels with a slice of burnt American cheese. We sent back a brioche sandwich that was literally black from overcooking. Stop using a speed oven and start cooking.

While I didn’t eat in, the space was inviting and relaxed. I got there at 8am and there was no line and the selection was extensive and plentiful. Everything looked tasty but I decided on a sourdough batard, plain cornetto, and toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese (& a cappuccino). Lots of other sweet and savory choices but I was very pleased with mine. Good taste, good crunch. Others have mentioned high prices but these are handmade Seattle bakery items with effort put into producing them. Personally I’m fine treating myself once in a while and will certainly return for more.

Excellent cafe food, bakery items, coffee and loaf bread. I had the Verdura sandwich, a very unusual take on the usual veggie sandwich. It has fig jam which adds a surprising, light sweetness and is on their lovely focaccia with its thin, crisp exterior and airy, soft interior crumb. Finally, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, plenty of places to sit in the middle of Sodo, no less!
I also LOVE their Volkhorn loaf, difficult to describe, just try it sometime!

Beautiful space, delicious food. We ordered a Roly Poly sweet roll, it was like a croissant but a bit more dense with raisins and a not to sweet swirl with a dab of cream cheese frosting. We also ordered the Morning BLT. It had two over medium eggs, bacon, tomato and lettuce. The bread was perfectly toasted. I got a raspberry rhubarb upside down cake to go and a loaf of their squash bread. I’d definitely stop back in if in the area. I wanted to try so many more things.

If you’re looking to treat yourself, the bakery has a delicious selection. Prices are WAY high though. Chocolate croissant almost 6 dollars plus tip? . It was good…but not sure it was worth the price. Not a big fan of the “automatic tipping trend” where the cashier flips around the payment terminal watching to see what you select as a tip. It’s not like the cashier made the croissant. But they did do a marvelous job, grabbing it with tongs and putting it in a bag

I think I have been patronizing the Macrina Bakery in SODO for over 10 years! I stopped in a while ago to try one item; the cinnamon roll. My opinion: confusing and the product simply did not work.
I understand bakery have to be innovative but a few things are wrong here.
1) The “cinnamon roll” I bought was not a cinnamon roll which is misleading. I believe the customer should know what they are buying through a name. Isn’t that the purpose of a name?
2) The cinnamon roll is not a cinnamon roll which lessens the experience. I felt sorry for this cinnroll like it had been neutered and assimilated into a world which is not its own; forfeiting all its downhome qualities in the process; e.g. the gooey center, the fluffiness
3) I would not say this “cinnamon roll” is a crossover, I would say it is masquerade.
4) I feel like cream cheese frosting on a cinnamon roll is cheating an is not always better. This cream cheese frosting was a little runny. I feel like the cinnamon roll is not flat enough to hold the frosting well enough which is why people traditionally use icing.

Cinnamon flavor: 2/10
Dough: slightly dense croissant
Center Filling & Goo: 1/10
Frosting: 5/10

Suggestion: Call this product something else that reflects what the customer will experience.

A best local artisan bakery service that sells baked good, cakes, pastries and coffee in Seattle. It’s a frequent stop when we do group bike rides.

Always found the staff very friendly and service is pretty fast even in busy times. There’s seating indoors and outdoor. Lots of merchandise including locally roasted coffee beans.

Selection of pastries both savory and sweet is large and keeps rotating to include seasonal flavors. All items we tried were appeasing. Fresh ingredients, locally sourced and served so nicely. Love lattes, perfect blend of caffeine and milk/froth.

Their breakfast/lunch menu is also good accommodating many options from vegetarians, vegan, and meat. Avocado toast is my favorite! A must try if you’re passing by!

Pricey for the quality. I got pecan buns for take away that were very dry and little flavor in the bun dough. Tried the bially sandwich and loved the bread but was underwhelmed by the two little tomatoes, one leaf of basil and no goat cheese to be found. Extra bacon added to sandwich was delicious and good portion size. Raspberry lemon coffee cake needed a bit more flavor but zing was perfect!

I dined here during a busy ish weekend rush with my family. My mother who is older ordered and the cashier doesn’t appear patient when she paid in cash.

The vibe at this location appeared snooty and the service lackluster. The barista seemed laser focused on drinks and wasn’t reading out names.

I don’t think I will return to this location and hope that staff can get a crash course training from the Roosevelt location. The only saving grace of my experience was the food runner and the food.
