Been coming here since it was the Greenhouse Cafe. Nice to have an upmarket “steakhouse” on the island and thought they got off to a great start. Had some disappointment in the consistency last summer but gave it another try tonight and thought it was excellent. Prices are reasonable for the island and there’s plenty of less expensive non steak options. Some pointers from past experiences and tonight…the steak sampler for 2, while a great concept is not enough food for 2. The skirt steak is a great value for money and the Oscar style sauces are a very good quantity of crab. The firecracker calamari is a great appetizer and the crabcakes (broiled) are very good. BYOB

Such a cool vibe restaurant with great food. Hidden gem right after getting on the island!! BYOB.
Update 8/2024: went back and we got the steak platter for 2. Definitely not enough food for 2 people but was still good. Shrimp pasta with crabmeat was better. I also liked the charred Cobb. Was grateful we were able to be seated in prime summer season with no reservation!!

The sauté shrimp and potato planks were awesome. My 12 ounce skirt steak was asked to be cooked medium. It came out more. A medium rare just could’ve been cooked a little bit longer. My husband fillet was awesome along with his potato planks. Definitely go back to give it another try there are many things on the menu that looked delicious.

New review 10/ 12/ 2022:
Been to Rare co now at least a dozen times. They are our new favorite restaurant in the area. Love the food, and love the staff. They do not disappoint. Keep up the good work ya’ll.

Went here for an anniversary dinner with my wife. 28 amazing years, but this isn’t about us, its about the food….
Place is fairly new open about 4 months or so. This place is gonna do really well. If your in town from NY and tired of fish and bored with old causeway, and are looking for a steak dinner this is your spot. We had a meal that rivaled any NYC steak house. Food was cooked perfectly, simple, flavorful, and good portions. I had the bone in rib eye, the mrs had the filet mignon, both were excellent. They do have a nice fish menu too.
Staff are pleasant, and attentive, food came out in reasonable time. Zach was fantastic, super friendly. Prices were great as well, and they are a BYOB establishment. Cant ask for more. Give them a go, you wont be disappointed. MAKE A RESERVATION…..

We have been to Rare Company multiple times. The food and service always very good. No complaints. That being said I will not be returning. 2 weeks ago we made reservations for a dinner with my immediate family. 6 of us. 2 traveling several hours. On that Sunday we received a text message from the restaurant a few hours before the reservation that they can not honor our reservation due to they are closing for the day due to staffing issues. Really? While I could have picked any restaurant in the area I chose this one. And with only a few hours to go we had to hunt for a place available to take us. We did eventually find a place but what a huge disappointment. Not how I wanted to spend my birthday. This was a huge let down and if it happened once it may happen again.

I chose this restaurant for the reviews I read for our last dinner of 2023. To my surprise the restaurant atmosphere, service, and food presentation was consistent with the reviews however with the exception of our food being served cold. I am not sure what happened exactly however I did notice several tables were left as is after other guests finished their meals and left. No staff cleaned up the tables until about an hour later. The restaurant was full tonight but it seems it was under staffed. The (2) servers seemed overwhelmed trying to handle all the tables and clear it afterwards. It seems Management should have been more plan full and scheduled additional help to cover the reservations. I believe our food was cooked to perfection but left in the kitchen for awhile before being served. This was disappointing. I have mixed feelings about returning to this restaurant. Maybe I’ll give it another chance in the future I don’t know. All these reviews can’t be wrong so I must have come on an off night but it still was disappointing.

Wanted to try a different restaurant for our anniversary. The restaurant was nicely decorated.
Started off with the commentary bread, butter, and olive oil with roasted garlic. This was delicious! We had every intention of ordering the flame grilled sampler for 2 but when we saw it at a table nearby we changed our minds.
We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it came out fast! We took a few bites and stopped eating it as it was very chewy! The menu said it was made with their house made “spicy red sauce” the sauce was NOT spicy at all!
My husband order the Steakhouse Double Burger and I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Taco.
The Coconut Shrimp Taco was good but there were more tortillas than filling (I would use a smaller tortilla) and it missing the jalapeño salsa. My husband’s burger was so beyond greasy, you literally ringed out the grease from the bun. We asked the waitress if the meat was frozen, she explained they locally get their ground beef from Oikee’s.
After two not so great dishes I did not want to chance the dessert! I am a big a dessert person and was not thrilled with the menu.
I was little disappointed.

I’m so glad we found this place! It was completely by chance when we were looking for places to eat last minute, but let me tell you- the steak was the best I’ve had in years (and I’ve worked in a couple upscale restaurants). The calamari and shrimp were excellent as well! I loved the cozy atmosphere we will 100% be returning!!! Wonderful customer service and also BYOB, so come prepared with a tasty wine! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a steak/seafood spot in LBI

Title: Bassline Showdown
At a 90s rave, every other person in the crowd is a looping clone of Lovinghad and H, bouncing and glowing under strobe lights. In the center, the main Lovinghad and H are locked in a furious, John Wick-level fight, twisting, flipping, and dodging to get to Ed and hand over a wad of cash. The bass drops hard, the crowd loops in hypnotic rhythm, and the chaos feels like the world’s weirdest, most neon-soaked action movie.
