Luna del Mar is lovely! The decor had charming touches like smiling flowers that made the space feel cheerful , and the staff were genuinely interested in making the experience warm. The tacos were hearty and refreshing, the fish covered in spicy sauce was delicious, and the apple soda was a fun surprise. The complimentary chips and salsa made everything better. A touch more salt would have lifted things further, but overall, such a lovely spot to dine.

Got the filet Diablo platter: sea bass filet with a spicy brown sauce, a cup of seasoned rice with peas/carrots, salad, a generous helping of fries, and corn tortillas. Slightly expensive but a perfect portion size for lunch. Now to the important part, the quality of the food—put simply, delicious. The fish was tender, juicy, and soft, the sauce was exquisitely spiced and not too salty or bitter or sour or spicy, the rice, fries, and salad all tasted fantastic. Overall, an excellent spot to go to for a quick lunch featuring your choice of the treasures of the sea.

I didn’t have much expectations since I just came for a late lunch and I don’t see any other customers inside. However, I was amazed by the food quality. It’s very fresh and tasty. We ordered 2 shrimp and 2 fish tacos and a guac. They were really thoughtful bringing 2 plates with 1 type each. Additionally, the vibe was really welcoming. The restaurant was very clean and the service was great.

Living in San Jose, I’ve tried every Mexican restaurant you can imagine. Luna Del Mar recently opened up down the street and I decided to give them a try, not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service, ambiance and most of all, quality of the food. This was NOT like any of the typical Mexican restaurants that I’ve been to, and that is a very good thing in this case! When the rice and the salad arrived, I was amazed at how distinct and delicious they both were. All the meat and seafood was extremely fresh, and you could tell there was a homemade touch. The decor is also very inviting and the vibe is very lively with karaoke being sung. It was also very clean all around and inside the restroom as well. Aside from the delicious and different food, the best part was the service provided by Nellie. She was extremely sweet to me and my wife from the moment we ordered until the very end. She recommended her favorite dish, which was a bacon wrapped jalapeño and shrimp plate, which I forgot the name of, but you should definitely ask about! The salsas are all homemade and very flavorful as well! I can’t say enough good things about Luna Del Mar and Nellie’s outstanding service. We’re definitely going to go back and try all the dishes that seem most unfamiliar to us, I’m sure we’ll enjoy them all judging by the quality of the dishes we had tonight. Definitely come and support this business, I know I will be a regular there from now on for sure!

Absolutely love the experience food amazing, very fresh taste, hot tea was excellent the fajita mix was amazing. My son loved the shrimp tacos. Service was fantastic! The atmosphere was very relaxing.

The food is just okay, but the portion is ridiculously small compared to the price. For $28.99, I expect the fajitas plate to be much bigger. We ordered the mixed fajitas and tacos, and the bill came out to be ~$70 before tax and tips Service is also very slow even though there were only 3 tables at the time we were there.

Tried the breaded shrimp (Empanizados), caldo 7 mare, and shrimp tacos.
The tacos had lots of shrimp and were tasty. The fried shrimp were excellent and the soup was also good with a good variety and the fish tender.

Very helpful lady behind the counter although they seemed to be understaffed as she was doing everything. Maybe it was because we went at an odd time.
We needed a vegetarian order too and she did a custom burrito for us with avocado which was toasted and so good! Had fish tacos which had the nice balanced sauce and just the right size . The fish burrito was also very tasty.
Great food, not too loaded with cheese and just the right flavors. As it came with a service with smile despite being a one woman show, highly recommend !
