TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Today marked my first visit to Dave’s, and I was not disappointed. I chose the Lite mild bites accompanied by Mac and cheese. Given that I cannot eat spicy food, the Lite mild option was a great fit with the perfect seasoning. The Dave’s sauce added a delightful flavor kick. My daughter selected the tenders with Medium sauce, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The counter staff member, whose name unfortunately escapes me, provided exceptional service on February 3 at 1:30. Her politeness and friendliness were evident when we picked up our order at the counter. Definitely will be back for more when we are in the area!

This was our 1st time coming to any Dave’s Hot Chicken. The gentleman greeting customers and taking orders was excellent. I believe his name was Jason but could be wrong. He was wearing a hat and had a beard. No real issues with him at all. The real problem we had was our wait time. We only ordered a #1 which is 2 Tenders , fries and a side of Mac & Cheese. We ordered at 4:15pm and did not get our food until close to 5pm. Almost 45 minutes for one order. There must have been 8-9 orders that came out before ours whether it was DoorDash or other customers that ordered after us. We were so close to walking out and asking for our money back but it finally came out.
We got one of the tenders plain/mild which was just ok. The 2nd tender was the Hot flavor and was actually really, really good and tender. The Mac & Cheese was very runny so not great. Not sure we’ll ever go back based on the wait time alone.

Great flavor and perfectly spiced! Ordered the 2 piece tender meal and mixed mild and no spice. Mild season was perfect! Paired with pickles and honey… someone knew what they were doing! Mac & cheese was a good side. Reasonably priced. Easy parking. Excellent service from staff.

The food was ok. It’s just over priced chicken fingers. (Small) I got an orange cream & wish I got soda. Orange in it was super sweet! Slaw on sliders were pretty good. I probably won’t be back

Amazing chicken I ordered the reaper this time and it’s insane it’s literally the HOTTEST SPICIEST I’ve ever had, very unexpected because other places claim their food is spicy or whatever and it’s always disappointing but not here! The strawberry milkshake is the cure for this high level spicy omfg. The food and staff here are amazing!!! ❤️ Definitely won’t be getting the reaper but I’m glad I did it, omg spicy!!!!

As others have previously mentioned on their review, the place is basically an overpriced chicken finger joint. One positive thing about the experience is the cook on the chicken, which was very well executed. It was nice and juicy, but very heavy heavy-handed on the chili flavor, almost one dimensional. I ordered meal #3 with no drinks. Soda another $3. All in came to just under $20. Hmm too much. I don’t know why they ask for tips for dine in because they don’t even serve it to you. Anyway, I can get a lot more value for my money elsewhere.

This was my first time trying this new chicken spot and it was awesome. I ordered cheese fries but received regular fries instead, and by the time I noticed I was too far to go back. Even so, the fries were still very good. The chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the customer service was friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back and hopefully get to try the cheese fries next time. Highly recommend!

The medium was super hot for my daughter and I, the mild was good. I like spice but I cant imagine going hotter than medium. Fries were seasoned and delicious. Service was great I wish I got the ladies name who was at the register. She greeted everyone with a smile and was super friendly. Place was clean. We went during a weekday around 1pm and it wasnt overly crowded. Will be back.

This is not a fast food place. We waited 35 minutes after placing our order before it was ready. It is also incredibly noisy there. The acoustics are horrible. It was tough to find parking.
The chicken was crunchy but a little bit dry. I had a hot and an extra hot item. And I felt like the extra hot was not as hot as regular hot so I’m wondering if they got those two wrong.
They asked if it was our first time but you don’t get anything for that. I think they’re just keeping track of new visitors. What they need to worry about is repeat visitors, which I don’t think we will be. Very pricey considering the wait for it.
