Reviews
We had such a memorable dining experience at Che Fico that we’re already planning our next dinner date there.
This place is super trendy and popular with tons of positive vibes. I love the energy from the staff and smiles on their faces.
Dishes were delectable and well presented. Started wth a Caesar Salad. Fresh Romaine lettuce and a tangy dressing with Anchovies. Followed by the Focaccia loaf. Buttery and flaky to the last bite. The Octopus and potatoes were slathered in a lemon Aioli garlic sauce and cooked just perfect. My Chicken Parmesan was packed with flavor covered in a rich Marinara and melted cheese.
We finished with a sweet and crunchy Cannoli and Gelato/Sorbet Swirl.
Sat at the bar and had a couple drinks with our meal and had excellent service from the bartender. I highly recommend you make reservations a day or so before hand as this place is popular. The menu is a bit pricey, but your are served quality food and fantastic service in a cozy and modern restaurant.
Premium Gelato in the Heart of Menlo Park
This charming gelato window is a fantastic addition to the local dessert scene, offering a high-end experience for anyone with a sweet tooth. The gelato is very tasty and stands out due to its incredibly smooth, dense texture and authentic flavors. It’s the kind of place that captures the essence of a traditional Italian gelateria right in the middle of the Peninsula. Whether you are finishing a meal at one of the nearby restaurants or just strolling through the plaza, it provides a perfect, refreshing break.
Effortless Outside Window Service
One of the best features of this setup is the outside window.
Convenience: Being able to order at the outside window makes the whole process feel breezy and informal. It’s perfect for a quick grab-and-go treat without needing to navigate a full restaurant interior.
Selection: Even with the window format, they offer a great variety of rotating flavors that lean into both classics and seasonal inspirations.
Experience: The ordering process was efficient, and the wait time was minimal, which is always appreciated when you’re looking for a quick dessert.
✨ Quality and Staff Interactions
While the focus is clearly on the food, the service experience is worth noting.
Flavor Quality: The flavors are rich and authentic. You can tell they aren’t skimping on the quality of the dairy or the mix-ins. It is easily some of the best gelato you can find in the immediate area.
Service Dynamics: The service was good and professional in terms of getting the order right and serving it quickly. I did notice a little bit of an attitude during the interaction—perhaps just a result of a long, busy day—but the staff remained functional and helpful enough.
Overall Vibe: Despite that small minor note on the service energy, the overall experience was positive and the product speaks for itself.
Final Thoughts and Recap
To recap, this is a top-tier choice for dessert in Menlo Park. The gelato is consistently tasty, and the outside window service makes it incredibly accessible for a casual visit. Even though the staff seemed a bit tired during my stop, the quality of the scoops is undeniable. It is a solid 4-star experience, and I’d definitely stop here again for gelato whenever I’m in the area. If you’re a fan of authentic Italian-style treats, this window is well worth a visit!
The service was absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent. I ordered the Radiatore – (Pomodoro, Calabrian Chili Bomba, Alexandre Dairy Cream, Vodka). My husband ordered a rigatoni meat dish which was spicy and a pepperoni pizza. He devoured the pasta and absolutely LOVED the pizza (the crust is made out of fresh sourdough dough)!
HIGHLY Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the exceptional wine introduction and service provided by Kevin and Rafael. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience truly memorable.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great wine and superb service!
