Reviews
Catfish was fried to perfection and seasoned perfect. That greedy spirit kicked in as soon as I got in the car and I ate one piece of fish before I made it back.
Fried chicken was very good and crunch. It was fresh like the fish straight out the grease but it was still very good and didn’t get soggy from being in the box.
The sides were mac and cheese, collard greens twice and yams. The Mac and cheese had really good taste but the noodles were over done. The yams was missing something like a pinch of something or a toe drop I dont know but they were still good. The greens has good taste but also was missing something. Doesn’t seem like they use a meat in the greens maybe that’s whats missing.
Got the strawberry crunch cake and that too was very good. I had to put it away before I hurt myself from glut.
I’ll be back and I recommend.
Welp I went around 1pm and it was packed. Took an hour to get 2 deep fried catfish orders and 2 pieces of chicken. The deep fried catfish was majority skin no meat but seasoned very well. The chicken was as well. Now let’s get into the sides. I had Mac and cheese which was kind of dry and greens which had no flavor at all. Overall, I’ll go just for meat and sides I’ll definitely go elsewhere. Unless, it was just a bad day because they were extremely busy.
I ordered the fried catfish with two sides, desert and the kool-aide slushy.
Little to my surprise, there was a line out the door upon arrival and it did take awhile for my order to be completed. Although, the wait was a bit long, the owners made it clear, she wasn’t sacrificing the quality of her food for a rushed meal. From that statement, I knew she was in this business for the right reason and the food DIDN’T DISAPPOINT!
The fish was hot, crispy, crunchy and not greasy. The sides were definitely made with care and complimented the fish.
The desert (honey bun cake)was out of this world. It was a nice blend without being overly sweet with loads of sugar.
I’m really happy that alI found Patty Cake’s Cobbler and will be making another visit.
Thank you for the great experience and nice service.
Pros: The food was good (all but the red beans & rice) I enjoyed everything I ordered. Just would like it if they would reconsider the all wings situation; again not all of us eat dark meat. I recommend this place. Would I come back. Unsure. I live in the I.E. and just happened to be in the neighborhood this particular day, and barely ever drive down LA County
The young lady that took my order was very cheerful and kind. Also, the prices were very fair and not expensive (especially considering the quality and taste of the food)!
I was definitely satisfied and will truly go back for more….
Thank you Patty’s Cakes
5+ Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
here” made me feel like they knew me and were eager to present me with my phone order. The young lady making my plates made sure to ask me if I needed any condiments and handed me my
order with a warm smile. The cashier showed me the cakes and other baked goodies that looked, absolutely delicious. I will be trying some on my next visit when coming from Orange County.
The Catfish was crispy and cooked to perfection. Perfect amount of seasoning.
The Greens were well-cooked and also had a nice flavor. Packaging the Greens in a separate container was a good touch and shows you care about the presentation of your product.
I also had the pleasure of indulging in the Mac and Cheese. Let me tell you, I rarely eat Mac and Cheese from restaurants. Not even African American Soul Food establishments, but this restaurant’s Mac and cheese was so good. Definitely will be a go-to in my future orders.
The cornbread pancakes were an
additional surprise and something I had never tried before. The only 2 things I added when I got home
were butter for the pancake-cornbread and lemon juice for the Catfish.
The two combos came to less than $40 and were well worth it.
Can’t wait to try other menu items on
my next visit to Lakewood, Ca.
This is probably the best chicken I have ever had! Way better than Popeyes or Kfc for sure!
The dish that I got was $ 20 and it came with 4 sides and a huge cornbread! I chose potato salad, home made mac& cheese, sweet potatoes & stuffing!
I am STUFFED!
It was served with a smile from her hard working staff.
Im surprised there’s not a line out the door! Her food is delicious!!
I will definitely be back!
Yummy!!
