Totally NOT what I expected! I had the beef tips and rice, creamed corn and collard greens. Both veggies were out of a can. Beef tips were fatty and portion size was nothing compared to the photos shown on google. I had to find me something else to eat it was so small. Dessert was either store bought or cake mix and was dry. Even the cornbread was dry and crumbly. For $15 I was expecting a good home cooked meal. I called to speak to management several times and was always told that they were not there.

Love this place! I care for my husbands dad who is on hospice. He loves a good home cooked meal. We order the lunch plates here all the time. The service is great, the people are kind, and the food is delicious. ❤ Highly Recommend.

Not sure where this restaurant gets its higher rating from, I do a lot of traveling I am from Southeast Texas and I love food, but this was a horrible plate of food, I got the lunch special hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, purple hull peas and hot water cornbread. Served on the cheapest Styrofoam plate you could buy, The hamburger steak was in the shape of an egg and tasted horrible, The gravy should have been poured out the back door, instant mashed potatoes The only thing I found worth eating was the purple hall peas, thought maybe I could salvage the hot water cornbread by dunking it in the peas but that turned out to be lost hope real quick. Save your money and go get McDonald’s you’ll be glad you did. Cuz this is not soul food This is not home cooking hell this is barely food.

Definitely worth the 5 minute detour off the highway. Stellar food here, got the pork chop sandwich and it was delicious. Very friendly people here too! Support your local businesses and save the fast food for when you don’t have great options like Alice’s.

Hands down, best cheeseburger of my life. Not sure why I choose to order a cheeseburger when there were so many scrumptious things on the menu, but I was feeling it and it exceeded my expectations. Not sure what kind of magic they sprinkle on them but any time I’m back in Louisiana, I will go out of my way for this hidden gem.
My b/f ordered a grilled cheese with his meal because he LOVES grilled cheese and this basic sandwich was AMAZING. Not kidding. Order one. $2.00 and so scrumptious!
