Let me share my personal experience at the Dock House:
“Whenever we vacation on Emerald Isle, a visit to the Dock House in Buford is a must. Despite the restaurant’s 3.7-star review on Google, our experiences have always been fantastic. The staff, especially during lunch, are a perfect blend of friendly and professional. And the drinks, whether it’s a soda, beer, or a gin and tonic with Emperis Gin, are always on point.”
“It’s worth noting that some of the negative reviews may stem from misunderstandings or unrealistic expectations. For instance, the tables are reserved for dining patrons, not just those ordering drinks. It’s unfortunate that someone gave them a 1-star review for that. But it’s important to remember that every establishment has its own policies and it’s best to approach them with an open mind.”
My advice? Ignore the negativity, approach with friendliness and courtesy, and you’ll undoubtedly enjoy your experience at Dock House. Remember, it’s not just about the food and drinks, but also about the atmosphere and the people you’re with. Here’s to good food, great drinks, and memorable moments! Cheers!
Location was awesome, and sits right next to a little town square/park. We had live music on the night we dined there.
We sat next to several locals, who recommended the shrimp basket (huge, and delicious) to my lady, while I got the best tuna steak I’ve had in my life, which was prepared PERFECTLY. We also had a couple beverages each and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Our waitress, who also happened to be the bartender taking care of a full house inside, gave us enough attention and followed up on everything we needed. They’re still short staffed following Covid shutdown, so maybe if you feel like you’re pressured for time, you’re vacationing in the wrong spot or your ideas of a relaxing and fun evening are far different than mine.
Bottom line – I absolutely WILL go back, and highly recommend the Dock House.
The location here is everything. Stopping in for a sunset burger or scallops is what this place was designed for. The docks are filled with some of the most beautiful sights at night when the boats turn on their deck lights. The blue, white and red lights accent the view as you sit with friends and enjoy a burger and conversation.
They offer a number of different burgers here. I chose the Tuna Burger, but they also offer Cod, Shrimp, Scallop and yes even beef burgers. Every burger arrived hot and fresh and comes with a nice sized side of fries. One thing you should order is the coleslaw. Their coleslaw is actually some of the best I’ve ever tasted.
My blackened Tuna burger was seasoned very well and cooked correctly. My wife’s North Carolina Burger was cooked perfectly and delivered warm too.
If you’re near the Dock House Restaurant when the sun is setting you owe it to yourself to grab a burger and watch.
