He did not like the idea I was using a discount code and tried to te me it expired and then tried to tell me I ordered a water when I said a bottle of water. I knew I had to order something that was $1 or more. Not 25 cents.
Edit: I looked at both of my receipts. He gave me $11.71 back in a refund but I was charged $12.88 as you see in both of these receipts. I went straight back to the restaurant and I said, hello, it’s me again and he said yes … I told him what happened and he asked for the receipts and I gave them to him. I said you didnt give me the full amount of the refund. He said everything he is itemized correctly as you see on these receipts. I can give you back the difference in cash if you would like? I said I just want my full refund of what I paid because I did not get any service from you. He was not very nice especially when he handed me the change in coins only. I said thank you and he did not say a word.
I was very nice about all of this but he was not. I will not be back and this was my first time here. I even told him when I first placed my order, this was my first time here.
I was greeted in the drive-through by Brandon, who immediately set a positive tone. He asked if I had been to Tropical Smoothie before, and after I placed my usual order, he jokingly told me it was one of the most basic drinks on the menu—which genuinely made me laugh. I asked him what he would recommend instead, and he gave me a few great options. I ended up choosing one of his suggestions and was so glad I did.
When I pulled up to pay, Brandon was friendly, professional, and full of great energy. He had an amazing smile, and you could truly tell he enjoys what he does. His positive attitude and excellent customer service were incredibly refreshing, especially after a long day at work.
I’ve always enjoyed everything I’ve ordered from Tropical Smoothie and will definitely continue to visit, but this experience really stood out. Huge shoutout to Brandon for making my day a little brighter and ensuring my order was perfect. I truly appreciate him and hope this review does some justice to what an amazing employee he is.

Edit: so I’ve been checking back hoping the team at tropical smoothie would reach out to me to follow up about this horrific incident, today I saw they’ve responded to the most recent review so they’ve obviously seen this and just decided to ignore it. In my opinion this is a poor way to treat a loyal customer who has been frequenting your location multiple times a week since opening day.
So today I went to into the store with my girlfriend to order some food and a smoothie, the employees that greeted us and took our order were great! But while waiting for our food a crew member came from the back and walked by mean mugging my girl… she asked “can I help you” and things went south real quick. They went back and forth for a moment before I stepped in and said something to him he put his hands on his waist and asked “are you talking to me” multiple times, I made it clear that I was and he said “wait right here I got something” and walked to the back. After a few minutes Brandon the manager returned asking what happened followed by the District manager who took over and sent Brandon back to the back. I was calm through all of this and told her what happened and that I wasn’t going to stand by while someone disrespects my girl, I told her that I’m a paying customer and was waiting on my food when he came out being rude and aggressive before telling me to wait right here so now I’m waiting for him to return. She told me that she’s staying there to make sure our paths don’t cross, she confirmed that I had received my food and made it clear that she was scared for my safety and wanted me to leave… as far as I know she never addressed the employee or did anything to make up for the horrible incident I experienced, the only thing I can assume is that he went to the back to get a weapon and she was just trying to get me out of the store as quick as possible before he returned.
The fact that they have people who are that much of a loose cannon that it’s unsafe for me to order food inside tells me that someone from Tropical Headquarters needs to pay this location a visit and reassess how things are being run. And the fact that I was basically shoved out of the store with no apology for the behavior of the employee and without any evidence of the employee being disciplined really blows my mind. This would never fly at any other restaurant.
