This BBQ was the best I’ve ever had!! Sauce was spectacular!!!! The hush puppies were perfect! I didn’t try anything else but i will be back!! Customer service was excellent. Long line which is good. Hickory Log Barbecue was iconic when I was a kid. I was crushed when the original went out of business. I’m 64 now and I am thrilled that somebody has brought back the name and recreated the recipes to a “T”. This is the real deal folks. Genuine Rutherford county greatness on a bun with a side of THE BEST hushpuppies anywhere.

Cutting my teeth in Texas Brisket as a child, I have kept that foundational love of brisket. After 40 plus years of living in BS, it had been difficult to find good brisket that is not dry and tasteless. Johnny at hickory log had quenched that hunger. His brisket is better than that of terry blacks in Austin. His pulled pork is excellent as well. Locals who remember the original hickory log will find their childhood favorite hush puppies here as well. Limited seating, but the food is so good that I would stand on the roof to eat it.

rip off of the original hickory log. why would you even name the restaurant hickory log if it’s not the same. seems like it’s just to make people thing the original is back. only thing that tastes remotely similar is the hush puppies. owner is one of the most irritating men i have ever had the dissatisfaction of meeting. just go to circle b, this place is not worth your money or time.
