Stopped in for a late breakfast on a Thursday while visiting the area. We had the French Toast and bacon, and the #4 (2 eggs, Fatback, toast, and a side of grits). She never gave her name but the cook, manager, waitress, hostess, and cashier was working her butt off (she was running the entire place by herself)(respect!!!). She warned us there would be a wait well in advance but 1 hr 30 min is ridiculous! In her defense I will say she was extremely busy because the place was full to capacity and she still managed to stay fully engaged with all of the customers to assure we were all catered to. The food was unfortunately just ok, items were over cooked, while others were cut into to check for doneness? Not worth the super long wait.

Ate here with my wife and it was amazing. Some of the other photos we saw we a bit meh, so we were amazed when our food came out. We wanted to make sure you saw a full plate. This was their Number 1 meal and I added a side of apples. We had the same meal, she had OJ, and the tab was $17!!

Wow I can’t say enough great things about Michelle’s Home Cooking, from day one coming here (not quite a year ago) we were greeted and treated like family. We plan our weekends around coming here for breakfast and when family comes to town this is absolutely a must to bring them to. As to the customer (Edward Franco) who wrote the negative review well we were the customers that you referenced so unless you know us and those that work there don’t come out of your mouth sideways. When coming here there is a sign in front of your face (I have included it with this post) that clearly states “All food is cooked to order! NO food is pre-pared! There will be a wait! Thank you!!”, so if you were on a tight timeframe to return to work you should call in your order ahead of time. Michelle’s Home Cooking is super accommodating and I am certain they would have ensured your order was ready in time. If you come in after my large party of 10 people and place your order, oh yeah don’t tell them that it’s to go it is no wonder why you had a wait, once again please reread the picture I have included. Our family comes here frequently and not once have we ever received bad service or food, the owner and workers are extremely welcoming and accommodating to all. Thank you Michelle’s Home Cooking family for always welcoming us and our family and taking such great care of us/ensuring we all leave with a smile on our face and a full belly. I can’t wait for many more years of breakfast with you all.

Good country food with great prices for the amount you get. Owner has a great dry sense of humor that some appear to interpret incorrectly based on other reviews, but my family enjoyed her conversation as well as her food. It is a small restaurant with a small kitchen and staff, so don’t come here for a quick bite. It isn’t McDonald’s and doesn’t try to be. The day we were there, she was working by herself, waiting tables and cooking. The owner is up front that there will be a wait, but keeps you supplied with coffee and up to date on progress.

My wife and I dined here on a weekend getaway and had a wonderful experience. We were warmly treated by Michelle, and enjoyed delicious food. The conversation we had with those around us and Michelle was wonderful and we made some new friends as a result. The wait was so worth it, and the biscuits and gravy are second to none. We will be back!

I’m working here from out of town and I’ve been ordering the French Toast with 3 scrambled eggs for the past few days now. It is soooo delicious!!! I appreciate Michelle’s friendly demeanor every time I go in there. It isn’t expensive and your food is made to order pretty quickly. I’ve been recommending this restaurant to everyone I talk to. You should definitely give her a try!

Wonderful home cooked food. I was in no hurry and that’s how you need to be when you go there to eat. It’s ALL cooked to order down to slicing the potatoes and onions for your home fries. It’s definitely worth the wait. So delicious!!

Don’t let the small unassuming building fool you. Michelle’s Home Cooking has been in business for nine years, it survived the Covid years, for a reason: Michelle. She is a rare individual “Sassy, Classy & Brassy” AND she can cook a damn good meal! I had the bologna burger and my partner had the daily special Pork Chop with real mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately the pies, that she makes every morning, we already sold out for the day. If you’re in a hurry, don’t bother coming in, she does it all herself, at her pace. Would I recommend this, absolutely!

This is a favorite of ours and is exactly as advertised: Good food, not fast food.
We have you honestly had some dishes or food that is the best we’ve ever had (like home fries). It seems simple but it is hard to find a place that makes home cooking style food just the way you like it and Michelle’s has never disappointed.
The family-like atmosphere is another bonus.
