We have been eyeing this restaurant since moving here over a year ago and we finally tried it. And OH MAN it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, and the drinks were delicious. And the staff was amazing!

After being seated it took our waitress more than 15 minutes just to order our beverages. Then it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks, canned Diet Coke and a glass of ice. Almost 10 minutes later we actually got to order our meal.
The food was delicious and well worth the cost. You do get a meal that is so plentiful we couldn’t eat it all.We would eat here again for sure.

Everything I needed on Christmas! Super nice and stayed open past 9pm to take our order. Got the birria ramen and steak tacos, It was delicious. Great-sized portions and great prices! Will definitely be eating here again.

I went in for my first time and I went straight to the counter to order no one else was in line. The girl behind the cluster looked at me many times and me and my friend just smiled and signaled bit nothing. 15 min passed and I had to say somrtihng I did and she isnalty went “what can I get you” like did I have to say sometihng im clearly ready and there then she took mine and didnt say a word and left. I didnt know if I was ready to pay or what 10 min pass and she comes back and goes oh you didnt pay ? And said my friend is also ordering ?? She ok go on. After that the food took 30 more min the food wasn’t bad but wow was the service so bad. Its as if they didnt know how to greet or even take orders or ask questions? Very rude. No manners and overall made me not even go back i asked to dine in and they gave me OPEN to go boxes not even a bag of our food….I asked for a bag for the containers and left.

Great authentic Mexican food from a local family owned restaurant in the heart of Belvidere. I love getting food from their taco truck on the weekends and I was excited to hear that they opened up a restaurant in town. Now I can sit down, relax and enjoy their food all year round. My husband and I are new to town, and we were excited to try this Mexican restaurant. For context, we eat Mexican food several times a week at home and have been to many authentic Mexican restaurants over the years. Unfortunately, this visit was a major letdown.
We were seated and given chips and salsa, but we sat for about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. When the waitress finally approached, she asked me what I wanted to drink, then said “anything else?” without even asking my husband. He eventually got his order in, but it already felt like the service was rushed and inattentive.
I ordered a margarita, and while their menu listed several flavors, they only had strawberry. That alone told me they were using a pre-mixed margarita rather than making them fresh. It was not good—I didn’t even drink half.
When it came time to order food, the waitress asked my husband what he wanted, started to walk away, and didn’t even ask for my order until I spoke up. My husband ordered oysters, which looked like they had been sitting out far too long. They were not fresh, and now he is sick—possibly with food poisoning.
For two drinks, one appetizer, and two very mediocre meals, and 18% tip, our bill came to $92. Considering the slow, inattentive service, poor drink quality, questionable food safety, and overall lackluster experience sadly, we will not be returning.

I enjoyed everything this Mexican restaurant had to offer.The establishment is extremely clean and the food was delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and knowledgable.I would recommend and return to explore the menu a bit more.Thank you for considering my opinion of Gomez Restaurant and bar that also has 2 taco trucks in Belvidere IL as well.The Menudo spicy soup is only served on Sunday.The guacamole was also made to order and just perfectly prepared just in time fashion.

4 cooks in the back 2 service in the front. It took over 40 min. for 2 gorditas and 1 quesadilla to come to us. The gorditas awful hard with no taste at all.

La pizza birria fue lo máximo, the food the drinks and the vibes were amazing! These are a great group of people and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I’ll come back for sure (and I’m from Colorado)
