This unassuming eatery is right next door to Park to Shop in Argyle. They had fresh sugarcane juice so we had to try. We also ordered:
– banh mi w cold cut (a bit on the salty side)
– bun bo hue (good, a bit on the sweet side)
– mi vit tiem (not a lot of place has this dish, i like the egg noodle though the broth feels more like wonton soup)
Definitely a convenient stop before or after your grocery haul. They also have other homemade goods like sesame bread or sticky rice or yogurt for purchase too.

Truly excellent Vietnamese food! I got the Bun Bo Hue which I feel like was everything I wanted and more. It had such tender beef, a spicy and sour broth, and amazing fish cakes too. Honestly was a good reminder that solid Asian food does exist in Chicago – you just have to go out of your way for it at times. Also liked that it was attached to an Asian supermarket – fun vibes! Super reasonably priced too – came out to be less than $20 per person after tax and tip for a super filling meal.

This restaurant serves really delicious noodles with a wide variety of menu options to choose from. The staff are friendly and provide great service. There are also plenty of tasty appetizers to enjoy, and the prices are very affordable. Highly recommended!

I got the vegetarian banh mi and it made me throw up and I was sick the rest of the night! Disappointed because it tasted okay overall, but the carrots had a weird taste and texture, my guess is they may have been old/bad but there’s no way to know for sure.

My friend got the egg rolls and said they were good, and service was very fast. Unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience after getting sick.

I got there little after they opened for some Pho and to get warmed up. After looking at the view, went with the following items:

– Banh Cong – Crispy Shrimp cake
– Pho Tai Nam – rice noodles soup with beef brisket and beef flank

Banh Cong – very dense, could have used more shrimps other than the one shrimp on top. After some bites, ended up setting the dish aside.

Pho Tai Nam – broth was ok, could been better and could have used more flavor. I wasn’t fan of the beef flank, it was very tough, and chewy.

Next time, I’ll try their entrees and rice dishes. For now, 2 stars out of 5. Staff members were very friendly and nice.

A cozy, family-run spot next to a grocery store. The braised pork belly with eggs and braised fish in claypots were rich and savory. The crispy shrimp cakes and hearty pork feet noodle soup were delicious. The Soda Hot Ga (soda egg) was a refreshing summer surprise. The fried radish cake with added egg had a satisfying crunch. Worth a visit for authentic Viet food!

My friends and I came here for a quick lunch! It wasn’t busy at all! My favorite was the spring rolls, love the sauce that came with it! The chicken wings were small but crispy and tasty! My friend had the congee and it was creamy and smooth! I had the noodle soup and the noodles were different than the picture on the menu, it should be flat and wide but I got round and thin noodles instead! The soup was tasty and not too salty at all!

I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve been eating here for over 20 years, though I hadn’t been back in a while. Unfortunately, this visit makes me question a return visit.

As usual, I ordered the pho. One person in our group barely touched theirs, so we asked for containers to take the leftovers home. The waiter insisted he would pack it for us. He took one full, large bowl of untouched pho and returned with a single quart container, claiming that was everything. That is simply not true.

Anyone who orders pho to-go here knows a full order comes in two containers—one for broth and one for noodles/meat. Half of our food was clearly thrown away. When we questioned it, they denied it repeatedly. At that point, I didn’t feel like arguing anymore, but it felt like we were outright lied to and had our food taken from us.

If you come here, pack your own leftovers, because apparently they can’t be trusted to do it honestly.

The pho itself is just okay now—less meat than before, skimpy on sprouts and extras. I can tolerate food that’s gone downhill. What I can’t tolerate is dishonesty and wasting food I paid for.

The meal ended with a very bad taste in my mouth—and my guest’s.

Love the food here. Nothing fancy atmosphere wise, but it’s worth checking out. Crispy shrimp cake with the rice crepes was something i haven’t had before and the pan friend noodles were also tasty.
