Great value and good portion of food! The chef’s special seafood paella was very delicious and flavorful, with lot of seafood and only $25. Deep fried fish, calamari, and cassava is the second dish I’d recommend, good portion and the onions were even also seasoned! Seafood soup was pretty good and the soup broth was not too salty. The lamb dish and the beef heart skewers were fine, but might have a bit of strong smell if you are sensitive to that. Ceviche was pretty standard. Overall very good value and nice flavor!

This place has a casual appearance upon entry, but once you get a warm welcome from their staff, the rest of the dining experience will be anything but casual.
We (3) tried out their Ceviche (with deep fried seafood on top), Beef heart and Seafood Paella.
The food was absolutely delicious and well presented.
Beef hearts were well marinated and cooked to be tender. Paella tasted delicious, but it was different from the traditional Spanish Paella.
The Ceviche was definitely the star of the show for us.
BTW, we really liked the glass mugs that they used for water.

This is the overall most authentic Peruvian food I’ve had outside of Peru. Simple ambience but the food and service is excellent. Try their Leche de tigre, causa, yuca fritas with huancaina, and even their chicha is delicious. Highly recommended!

Best peruvian food ive ever had, I come here at least twice a month for their Pescado a la Chevillana (yellow chili fried white fish) and love it every time.
Their lomo saldato and Pescado a la plancha are great and refreshing too, as is their paella

Best Peruvian spot in town. And even if you don’t Peruvian food, you should just go anyway; this place is just delish. Was looking for a place to dine near SCU after a basketball game, and this restaurant came up on the Yelp search. The food is sooooo good and portions ginormous. We definitely overordered but made sure we ingested every bit. When we arrived around 6:30pm, the place was PACKED! They have outdoor seating, but it was a stormy night so everyone was inside. We got the second to last 4-person table and although freezing by the door, it was worth it.
The waitresses are fast and efficient, food was really good, and don’t think they serve alcohol (maybe just beer).
Parking at the lot is TIGHT but it’s right next to a large residential street; just park on the side and walk in.
Will be back again!

Tasty and authentic Peruvian food.
Here are my thoughts on what we ordered:
.Lomo Saltado: Very authentic and delicious. Exactly what I was expecting. All elements were tasty and well seasoned. One of the best I’ve had here in the Bay.
.Tallarín verde con pollo: The chicken itself was very good! Tender, juicy and well seasoned. As for the pasta, it was not bad but I know from personal experience it could be a lot better. Overall it was ok, and portions are very generous.
.Yuca frita: The yucas themselves were good. The huancaína sauce was not great, it was good but I would’ve hoped for a thicker, creamier, richer consistency and flavor.
.Lucuma ice cream: So so good! The perfect end to a great and satisfying meal. Delicious Lucuma taste, would definitely recommend.
Also, the chicha morada is made fresh and to my surprise it was pretty good

Lo key and good food. I was a little surprised that the fried yuca was only 5 pieces, but the chef’s special seafood paella was so good my guest was eating my dinner.

We thought the food at Emelina’s was solid but could have been better. The fish ceviche with fried calamari on top was great, but the chef’s special paella wasn’t our favorite as it was a bit dry and the seafood a bit overcooked.

We walked in with no expectations and no experience in Peruvian food. We got ceviche and the chefs special and a tamale. We walked out with full tummies and a leftover box that got demolished later that night. The waiter was super kind and patient, our food came out hot fresh and spiced to heaven and back. We tried the cool juice flavors on the menu for fun they were nice. The ceviche is very different and such an experience, def get if you’re open to new experiences. The chef special pictured below was SOOO GOOD. Tasted and felt like a family member made it. Worth the tiny parking lot wait.
