Reviews
This place was an absolute win from start to finish. We ordered the Thai Basil, Yellow Curry Plate, Crispy Tofu Delight, Damage, and Mango Sticky Rice — and honestly, every single dish was amazing. The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced, and the portions were solid.
The waitress was friendly, attentive, and really helpful with recommendations, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable, and we happened to arrive at the perfect time because there was no wait.
If you’re in Beverly Hills and craving quality Thai food with great service and a relaxed vibe, Civilize Thai Bistro is definitely worth checking out.
First, I would like to share that we used to eat here at least two or three times a month. However, the portions and overall quality of the food have significantly declined. For the price, I would not recommend this place anymore. There are better options around LA.
Yellow Coconut Curry with Chicken
The portion size was much smaller than before. I only received three very small pieces of chicken, which was really disappointing. After mixing it with the rice, there was barely enough chicken to enjoy with the curry. Unfortunately, the flavor of the curry also seems to have declined.
Pad Thai with Tofu
This dish had more salad than noodles and was very dry. It only came with five small tofu cubes and barely any scrambled egg. The flavor was bland and underwhelming. In the past, this dish had a generous portion, but now it’s simply not worth the price.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience compared to what it used to be.
I ordered Coconut Shrimp & Shrimp friend rice. I know what you’re thinking…. double shrimp dishes??? YES! I had to taste those and the Mango Sticky Rice!!!
Coconut Shrimp- Crispy with soft shrimp center.
The flavor was so yummy!!
The shrimp fried rice was really yummy! Big serving!!
I liked The mango sticky rice because it came with more than enough mango and extra sauce!!
I love the Vibe there!
A cute Hole in the wall styled restaurant, about 11 tables and it does have a bathroom for customers.
The room is filled with Beautiful plants and flowers decorated with all over the walls.
They have inside as well as outside tables.
It is kid friendly. I seen families come in to eat and they had fun.
Service was excellent. Staff were friendly, attentive and all smiles 🙂
Happy with my experience. Would return!
Today I ordered both soups, Tom Yum and Tom Kha from Civilize Thai, and looks like I’ve finally found exactly what I was looking for.
I really like the taste. The service is also very good.
When I entered the place to grab my order I’ve noticed that there are many people were sitting inside (it was around 2PM, Friday). Looks like this place is very popular, I’m not surprised why.
This bistro looks nice and clean inside, which is also important.
I will definitely come back soon and try something else.
The pork was deeply savory and perfectly seasoned, not dry, not greasy, just rich and flavorful with that classic Thai basil aroma that hits you before the plate even lands. The basil was fresh and fragrant, the chilies brought real heat without overwhelming the dish, and everything felt balanced instead of muddled.
The fried egg was a standout moment. Crispy edges, runny yolk, and once it broke into the rice it tied the whole dish together like it knew exactly what it was doing. Comfort food, but elevated.
Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and it tasted like something cooked with intention, not rushed. This is the kind of dish you order once and immediately start mentally planning when you’ll come back for it again.
If you’re into bold flavors, proper spice, and Thai food that doesn’t play it safe, this one’s a win.
