Reviews
From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere struck a perfect balance between lively and comfortable.
We were welcomed with complimentary still or sparkling water, along with freshly baked bread made in house, which was absolutely delicious and a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Even the Caesar salad exceeded expectations. The polenta croutons were a standout element, adding both texture and a distinctive twist that elevated a familiar dish.
For our mains, we ordered the mushroom risotto and the rabbit gnocchi. Both dishes were outstanding, but the risotto was the highlight of the evening for us both. It was rich, deeply flavoursome, and perfectly executed. The gnocchi was equally impressive, with a sauce so good that dipping the fresh bread into it felt essential.
The overall quality of the food was excellent, and the experience left us eager to return. We are particularly interested in trying the pizza and the duck risotto on our next visit.
A memorable moment was having the opportunity to meet the owner, who was exceptionally warm and welcoming. It was clear that there is genuine care behind both the food and the hospitality. Experiences like this make it easy to support a local independent business, and we look forward to returning.
The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with great care and quality ingredients. You can tell there’s real passion behind the menu!
The atmosphere was elegant yet inviting, creating the perfect setting for a special evening out. Between the impeccable service, exquisite cuisine, and refined ambiance, this restaurant exceeded all expectations. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
The food was delicious with the Chef even coming out to greet us. I had the arancini to start and their signature rabbit gnocchi for the main. Their homemade tomato sauce was delicious and the fresh gnocchi was probably some of the best I’ve ever had! You can easily tell the degree of care and quality this restaurant puts into the dishes they create.
Excellent rotating wine list with a mix of local and international options that you will not find at the LCBO.
The space was cozy, but elegant with ambient, warm lighting, but not so dark you could not see your food. Our server was also very attentive and friendly. To top it all off, they serve complimentary house made focaccia and butter to start! We would return in a heart beat.
The bread that came before appetizers was the best part of the meal. Then it all sort of went down hill. Both the duck risotto and seafood risotto were very bland. 3 of the 3 that were ordered ended up asking for and adding extra salt/pepper (and these people rarely add extra anything when we eat out) tall were underwhelmed with their risottos. One comment “I have seen bigger shrimp from a frozen ring at Walmart” the scallops were not seared and clearly not cooked separate from the risotto, just tossed into its so they had no flavour and were just small mushy bits. If you like seafood, this is not the time or place to try their seafood risotto as you will be disappointed. The duck risotto had duck 3 ways apparently but only presents as two, one version is mixed in with the bland risotto and the second version is some shavings (not cracklings as the menu suggests) and still unsure where the third way was. Needless to say, also was let down.
The biggest down side was the birthday persons dinner was also a big let down. The menu says that the braised rabbit gnocchi is finished with a “black truffle puree” which in theory sounds great, however there is no such thing on the dish. It came as braised rabbit stew within the gnocchi, it had tiny carrots, and sautéed mushrooms, but there was absolutely nothing truffle about itx Do not order this if you like truffle and are excited for the black truffle puree as it simply isn’t even apart of the dish.
Others tried the ceaser salad, margherita pizza, bolognese pappadelle and the arancini, all ok, nothing to suggest this is a 4+ star rated dining experience at all.
Hopefully this is a one off night where the staff and kitchen were not on their a-game. There wasn’t even a small birthday dessert offering or even a dessert coffee for the celebration. A complete disappointment.
The menu needs to be written more honestly and the dishes should be an honest reflection of what’s on the menu. You can get a meal like this for a half the price at a Kelseys. Nothing was really elevated about the experience except for the prices (which would be totally ok if we got the dishes the menu describes).
Too bad because we all had such high hopes.
The food was good too, very enjoyable, but it was the service that really blew me away.
Thank you.
