We really enjoyed this place, we had to wait about 40 minutes to be seated because they were short staffed (who isn’t anymore) so we went and sat at muse for drinks. The drinks were great, seriously one of the best Moscow mule’s I’ve ever had. Both bartenders at muse and especially at drift were very polite and had great customer service. The hostess was so polite and welcoming. They ensured our experience was great as this was our first time in colonial beach and it was my sister’s 21st. They made her a dessert drink which she enjoyed and the food was amazing. We personally didn’t have to wait long for food but I can see how some menu items would take a longer time. Yes it’s expensive compared to other places on the beach, but taking into account this is a tourist area and the restaurant is slightly more ‘upscale’ in comparison to the others along the beach. The view and atmosphere was worth the money. Thank you all at drift and muse for the memorable experience.

Excellent service and atmosphere! Derrick is the best ! We enjoyed our first Valentine’s Day meal out in years! Also was extremely happy with the fact that their sister restaurant accommodated our younger child for a pizza while we enjoyed the Valentine’s Day special!

Lookout Colonial Beach, this place will soon dominate for places to eat. Not only is it in a beautiful location, but it is well appointed inside and out. Real linens, real plates, real silverware, that’s hard to find in Colonial Beach. Not only is the service excellent, but the drinks were made excellently, the food was prepared well and presented beautifully and the flavor was delicious. We are visiting from out of town and we can only hope that the locals will help make this place through the winter time. I think they can do it because they offer great food at a great value with excellent scenery.
The Bloody Marys were excellent as well as the beer was cold. We ordered the shrimp and grits and it was prepared perfectly. We also got some scrambled eggs with some cheese in them and they were the best eggs ever. The cheese they use is absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Eggs Benedict with scallop. Scallop was cooked perfectly and it was right as the Hollandaise sauce was masterfully made. We also were visited by the manager as well as the chef. Very personable people and they are doing it right. You’ll do yourself a favor going there.

What a gorgeous place!! We’re in town visiting and staying nearby. It’s a slow weekend because there was rain. The staff are really friendly. It was pretty quiet for. Friday night late dinner.
The place is really well decorated, brightly lit, clean, and has a beautiful view!! The food does take some time because everything tasted like it was freshly made. The staff is friendly and helpful. Ray is a great bar tender and was on it.
We got fresh oysters, Code Poutine, the Drift Pizza, and Strawberries with Cake. They take time to have balanced flavors with locally sourced ingredients. Even the raw oysters were clean and fat! They have an amazing pastry chef who baked oysters crackers that are like spicy biscuit crackers. Dessert was strawberries with cake, which honestly was my least favorite. The presentation was a bit underwhelming, the pound cake was too dense like a biscuit, and the mixture of lemon and strawberries was too much for me. I expected a light and refreshing taste, but it was overly sweet and tart….too intense.
After a lot of fried bar food in the area, this was a pleasant experience. It is a must for people who want a bit more refined dining with a beautiful waterfront view!! We are so glad we stopped in!

Maybe it was just an off night at the restaurant, but on a Saturday on Father’s Day weekend you would expect everyone to be on their A-game…the photos of the food speak for themselves. The portions were small, the food came out lukewarm to warm at best, and the staff was very much either cold or confused. The best part was the service of our waitress, Jordyn, who definitely did her very best and was holding up the team from what we could see. The drinks were good, though!
This place has potential but they are most likely going through growing pains. If you’re going to serve crab cakes in the Chesapeake Bay Area you really can’t expect people to accept 80% filler and have them be the size of the head of someone’s fork….and for $30 lol. The rockfish was yummy, and the Southern Charm salad was nice. The fried fish on the salad was good! The hummus was delicious, nice and spicy. The field peas and the “Low Country Boil” were…..soup? Short of the mark there.
The cornbread was good, but the color needs to be something people are warned about in the description…black cornbread doesn’t normally mean something good!
Staff just generally seems young and inexperienced, so we will return in some time and hope for some improvements!

I live locally & was finally able to try this place out with a friend. The restaurant was beautiful with a great view. Service was also good.
Food was OK, nothing to brag about. Portions weren’t small, but also didn’t seem to be average. My friend actually left still hungry. My food wasn’t cold, but also wasnt hot. It was bland in my opinion also, and there wasn’t salt or pepper on any tables to season if we wanted to. The price of the espresso martini on the menu was $13, but we were charged $14.
Not a horrible experience, but honestly probably won’t go back. With one plate of food & one drink, I don’t think it was worth $44 spent + tip.

Traveling from RVA during Mother’s Day weekend and 10/10 HIGHLY recommend! Chef Robyn and her Charleston, South Carolinian roots were much appreciated as the She Crab Soup was the best thing that hit my mouth in a LONG time! And the corn bread with pimento cheese! I’ve traveled and studied abroad all over the globe but never had pimento cheese like this! RUN to this fine dining establishment in CB, my little slice of Heaven!
And thanks to T, our wait staff who was amazing! ❤️

Ashley was absolutely wonderful, she made my mom’s 77th Birthday lunch so much more wonderful. Even the floor manager, Derrick, came by and check on us. The food presentations were on point and the food was so tasty!! All of the staff we encountered were super friendly to us. This “first-timer” will definitely be back with family and friends!!
