Latin cuisine…

Not sure fully the origins of the place, but definitely got some points because the tortillas were freshly made.

We ordered the sopes ordered and tacos, both came 3×10. The options are carne asada (beef), chicken, chorizo (pork sausage), lengua (cow tongue).

They served the tacos and the sopes with all the works. The tacos’ toppings were chopped onion and cilantro and the sopes had sour cream, lettuce and shredded cheese. Serving is fulfilling to keep you satisfied.

It’s a small place and they take a little bit of time to have the order ready (no problem fore since sometimes that means it’s fresh and not only heated up).

They have a short but very tasty menu for all choices, from soups to soft or hard tacos.

Definitely considering to stop by whenever I’m in the area.

Order was placed for delivery and never got delivered. I went to the store after being hung up on when calling to check on my order. Once I arrived I discovered the order was never prepared. I was asked to give them 10 minutes to prepare my food. Once I received the order and got home. (5minutes later) the food was COLD. Steak over cooked. This was a waste of money and time. They never apologized for not preparing my order or the fact that they did not deliver it and I paid for a delivery fee. They didn’t refund me. Horrible experience 0/10 do not recommend!

My wife was visiting with some friends so I was looking for a nice little place to have a meal this morning and this place was absolutely 100% perfect I couldn’t make up my mind whether I wanted the steak and shrimp fajitas or the pork dinner so I ordered both figuring I might take one home not a chance the food was delicious and for dessert I wanted the carrot cake or the cheesecake but they had neither and the girl offered me this other piece of cake with whipped cream topping and cinnamon it was absolutely fabulous I definitely will be revisiting

Ordered through Ubereats for about fifty dollars worth of food. A Mi Bandera employee was supposed to deliver the order. It was due at 11am, by 11:40am still nothing. Called Mi Bandera and a lady answered and she seemed nice but she couldn’t understand me, no English, so I asked if there was someone available that could help me. A gentleman then answered and I asked about the status of the order. He said he didn’t know and that their delivery guy already left with it. I asked if he knew when his delivery guy left and the gentleman said “No”. He also told me to order directly with the restaurant next time. No thanks, I won’t. Strange and very disappointing experience as their food looked good but their service seems terrible. They are not very professional. Ordered from Tela Mares for pupusa instead and no issue.

Went on a Sunday afternoon they were very busy. Took about 35 to receive our food; moreover, it took twice as long as that ultimately because they prepared the wrong dish for my order. It was partly my fault because I was using a menu from Google maps that was way outdated and I ordered the beef version of a dish that they now only offer in chicken. There was a slight deficit in the Spanish to English translations going both ways so I can’t really fault them for that. When I noticed the mistake they did pull a girl to the front who was fluent in English so everything was straightened out. We didn’t mind waiting in their dining room for our food and one of the friendly workers brought our carryout order over to the table, which was kind of her, given the fact that there was still a long line behind us waiting for their carryout orders. I say for ease of mind on all fronts, use an online service to order your food well in advance of picking up.

As for the food itself? Amazing. Pollo en crema was banging. Full of chicken, vegetables (including cactus), and drenched in heavenly creamy goodness. Came with a side of fluffy yellow rice, homemade fried masa tortillas and pinto beans. The dish itself was filling and fresh, the tortillas not so much. They were flat and heavy and drenched in oil. Pass those. The dish I ended up opting for was a Honduran(?) quesadilla called baleadas. I’ve never had it before but it seemed quick. They packed two giant deep fried crispy and chewy flour half moon shells with tons of carne asada beef and cheese into a Styrofoam container that had to be held shut with 6 rubber bands. They baleadas was tasty but I couldn’t even finish half an order they were so big. They’re was a lot of grease that wasn’t drained away so I spent much time sopping it up before I could eat it. It was a rather hot day so I added an horchata to the order. It was large enough for 2 of us to share, and cold and tasty. There’s had a kind of peanut undertone, which was new to me. Not bad but if you’re not into peanuts then don’t get it. We also ordered pork tamales for the next day but they turned out to be chicken. Pretty good ultimately but when you ask for cerdo and receive pollo it’s a bit of a disappointment. Another instance of translation issues with this place. I’m going to go back and try some of their other dishes. There’s a good mix of Mexican, Honduran, and Guatemalan items on the menu. The restaurant shares space with a grocery store of sorts. There’s not much in there aside from a modicum of dried herbs I expect are stocked primarily for the restaurant and a freezer with a modicum of treats and frozen bananas presumably for dipping in chocolate and selling to neighborhood passers-by? The dining room has between 6-8 tables tightly packed, but on the day we visited there were only 3 parties in there so plenty of room. Everyone was focused on the soccer game on the television at one end. Oh, the grocery store section has some interesting Latino Herbalife Amway type supplements displayed on their shelves, particularly for treating diabetes and kidney cleansing that I’d like to read more about. Not that I’d buy any of it. Is just kind of fascinating. I’ll add a picture of the updated menu next time I go.
