My family and I visited a few weeks ago to celebrate my husband and i’s anniversary. We both got the ribs. (pictured) They were phenomenal, even with my plate having BBQ all over it. Mushrooms and fried were scrumptious as well!
The service was prompt and attentive as well, all except for having to ask for rolls. We didn’t have to do that before – they automatically just came out. Our complaint was the gentleman that played guitar. We must’ve went on a night where they had special music – and we got sat 10 feet away from him, and he had an amp.. Most of dinner we were forced to listen to the mediocre music, and weren’t able to even conversate without yelling. We were the only people in the room full of empty tables and chairs. There’s no reason we should’ve been sat right beside the entertainment. I have been a server for years – never would I sit folks that close, in an empty room. We’re going to hear it 3 tables away and be more inclined to tip – if we don’t feel like you’re shoving the man in our faces. Just saying. I definitely wouldn’t have sat another family directly beside the only table either. With us all trying to talk over the music – we were all sharing conversations. Not cool. Very poor hosting on that end.
On another note – I found an adorable mushroom made from wood and a Walnut. Only $1.50! Super simple, and adorable!

Home cooked Amish meals at a reasonable price.
We enjoyed our Swiss steak dinner with unlimited soup and salad. The food we had was good, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, and our waitress was fantastic.
We now go to Shreve and Des Dutch Essenhaus multiple times per year.

What a great place. We stopped for Breakfast. Had the buffet. The bacon was OUTSTANDING. They cook it in the oven. Thick sliced, smoked yummyness!! The staff was super friendly as we’re the other diners. I would definitely go back again and again and again. Did I mention how good the bacon was? Lol . The scrambled eggs were real, not the powdered stuff and they went well with the BACON. I really liked the bacon. Plus do you know what goes great with Bacon??? More bacon! The whole experience was well worth the 1 & 1/2 hour drive. Plenty of room, place holds a lot of people. Large waiting area. Breakfast goes to 11:00 on Saturdays. But I would like you to try the bacon. .

Been going there since 1996 and have always loved it. My father and I use to camp near by and would go there and eat when I was a kid. Now I try to go there every year when I go through the area. Great food and nice people.

Good Amish home cooked meals. The chicken, ham, and beef are excellent. Save room for delicious pie and ice cream. Attentive server. Free parking on streets surrounding. Associated gift shop with Amish items and baked goods. It’s worth the drive.

Wow. I could have gone to a high a school cafeteria and it’d have been better than this. The burger was a flavorless hockey puck. The tomato was twice as thick as the patty.The chicken was dried and devoid of flavor. $56 for two adults and a child. I wish id gone anywhere else.

Where do I start….the horrible music was playing very loud. The fried chicken was dried out and old. Mashed potatoes on the “buffet” but no gravy. Completely overpriced 2 people with 2 drinks $42 it was not even Worth it. Very poor experience I felt ripped off and only stayed 20 minutes. We will never be back.

We went last year after we got our Christmas tree at twinsberry farms. Last year we went there and they had a fabulous hot Buffet they didn’t have one today. We ordered from the menu. It took over an hour for our food to come. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Don’t recommend

My family has been visiting this place for decades, however the most recent time the place seemed to have changed. The food was bland and the drink cups were small. The service is always wonderful, but I dont know if it was an off day or if something have changed for good.
