Walked in the restaurant and it was busy, which is fine but the guy that was working in the front seemed as if he had a slight issue with one of the other customers. It was his facial expression while communicating with the lady. He was OK with us tho. Went for the ox tails but they wasn’t serving them today so we decided to go with the lamb chops. The food was a 7 out of 10. The reasoning for my rating is that it was a pan of Cornbread with a little bit of the sides on top of it. We had the red beans and rice with the macaroni and cheese The food was good but could use a bit more flavor.

Went for brunch, and got the lambchops and waffles while hubby got lobster and waffle. The waffle was amazing! Hubby ordered another waffle before we left. Lamb chops were good, but the chicken was even better as it was hot, fresh, and flavorful (I tried one from my sister). Hubby said the lobster was better than the chicken. If I go back, I would definitely get the chicken and waffles, which is what our server mentioned as the most popular order. Service was fast and server was happy to answer questions.

So yesterday, I was celebrating Veterans Day and wanted a spot with some food for the soul. Truth/Trust was recommended. This was my first time, and they did not disappoint the drinks, the atmosphere and the food were on point. I am so grateful for the recommendation. I will most definitely be back.

“A Memorable Culinary Experience at Truth Lounge & Bistro”

Effortlessly combines soulful cuisine, an inviting atmosphere, and standout service to deliver a dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. My recent visit to this gem was nothing short of exceptional. Here’s a detailed review of the highlights, including their innovative cornbread bowl, crispy wings, gumbo, and signature power flight, alongside the incredible hospitality from Tiffany and Chef Wallace.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Offerings
The Cornbread Bowl – A Showstopper:
Truth Lounge & Bistro’s cornbread bowl is a true culinary innovation. Served as a perfectly baked vessel, this dish offers a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. I customized mine with tender lamb, yams, and greens, and the result was phenomenal. The lamb was succulent and seasoned to perfection, while the yams added a hint of sweetness that balanced the savory greens. The cornbread itself was moist yet sturdy enough to hold the toppings, soaking up every bit of flavor from the fillings. This dish is a must-try for anyone seeking comfort food with a creative twist.

Crispy Wings & Fries – A Classic Done Right:
The crispy wings and fries are another standout offering. The wings are cooked to golden-brown perfection, with a satisfying crunch that gives way to juicy, flavorful meat. Paired with perfectly seasoned fries, this classic dish is elevated by the kitchen’s attention to detail. It’s a satisfying option that delivers on all fronts.

Gumbo with Beef Sausage – A Pleasant Surprise:
One of the most pleasant surprises of the meal was discovering that Truth Lounge & Bistro uses beef sausage in their gumbo. As someone who often avoids gumbo due to the traditional inclusion of pork, this thoughtful substitution made the dish accessible and enjoyable. The gumbo itself was rich, hearty, and packed with layers of flavor, showcasing a perfect balance of spices and ingredients. The beef sausage was a standout, adding depth without overwhelming the dish.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cocktail Menu
The Power Flight – A Sip of Creativity:
The power flight, featuring any three selections from their signature lineup (Ghost, Tasha, Tommy, or Tariq), is a creative and playful way to explore the bistro’s drink menu. Each drink is expertly crafted, with bold flavors that reflect the personalities they’re named after. Whether you prefer something sweet, strong, or refreshing, there’s a perfect combination for everyone. This flight is a must-try for cocktail enthusiasts and adds an element of fun to the dining experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Atmosphere
The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and upscale. The warm lighting, tasteful decor, and lively energy make it an ideal spot for everything from casual dinners to celebratory occasions. The bistro’s ability to create a sense of community and comfort is a testament to its excellent leadership and attention to detail.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Final Thoughts:
Truth Lounge & Bistro is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. From the innovative and flavorful cornbread bowl to the perfectly crispy wings, inclusive gumbo, and creative power flight, every aspect of the menu reflects care and creativity. Coupled with outstanding service from Tiffany and a personal touch from Chef Wallace, this dining experience goes beyond expectations.

For anyone looking to enjoy soulful, flavorful food in a welcoming and vibrant setting, Truth Lounge & Bistro is an absolute must-visit.

The service was horrible, it was only two people, and anytime I needed something, I had to look for the waitress. At some point I could see she was annoyed but so was my table. The drink choose was awful not well mix or flavorful. The food I can’t express it enough, she put her soul into that food, it was amazing. It was smoking inside the lighting is very dim. I could see me going back to get a pick up order of food but to dine in is not an option.

The service was extremely slow — it took a long time for our food and drinks to arrive. (We had to ask NUMEROUS times for missing items… and eventually canceled them.) We were surprised to receive plastic flatware while dining in, which didn’t match the experience we expected. The drinks were noticeably watered down, and the Kool-Aid had a musty odor. Additionally, our server seemed uninterested and unengaged, which made the overall dining experience feel disappointing.

Today I had the pleasure of being apart of a party of eight. Our waiter’s name was Chris. He was very kind, attentive and helpful. We had a variety of food on the table. Fish, shrimp grits, beef steak, lamb and read beans and rice along with macaroni and cheese. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and the steak and lamb was tender. However one of the guest at our table ordered blackened Salmon w/greens. She liked the greens but the Salmon was over cooked. The food was sent back and another piece of fish was prepared and brought back but this time with cabbage as requested. The 2nd time the Salmon was still overcooked as well as the cabbage. Food was sent back with no request for a replacement meal. What made that experience unique is that the establishment was very gracious and put forth much effort to correct the situation. The chef even came out to speak with the guest. This indeed is one time event that will not keep me from coming back. Overall it was a very good experience. I even requested coffee which was brought to me in a very nice cup and was fresh and hot. I will be back.

Very satisfied

We came here for lunch and the I must say, I was impressed . It has a nice atmosphere and the food is great. The bartender was personable and professional. The music selection was outstanding. The food is seasoned just like we like it, and the drinks were strong. I could imagine how brunch is here. We will definitely revisit when we’re back in Beaumont.

We saw some really delicious looking items on social media and my son wanted to check it out… They no longer had those on the menu but said we could still order them on certain days. It was about 20 mins before their closing time when we got there, I will admit that, but our food was terrible. My best friend and I each got shrimp and grits and my son got a pork chop cornbread bowl. I love shrimp and grits, I’ve eaten it from other places many many times it’s one of my favorite meals. This was not that. The shrimp are lil bitty gumbo shrimp for one thing. I got no sausage at all not even one piece. My best friend got 2 small pieces of sausage. The grits were cold and dry and the whole meal had no flavor and no sauce. We didn’t get our drinks until after our food bc the server forgot them, he admitted that. They we’rent even bar drinks though, just sodas and a water. My son got the cornbread bowl. His cornbread and pork chop was also dry but the Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were decent. Everything needed seasoning. We asked for salt n pepper and only got salt that we couldn’t even get out of the shaker lol. No pepper though. I decided to just take my cold dry grits home to fix myself bc it was $15. Overall we paid $54 for our entire meal without tip and I highly regret it. After all that the only person full is my son. The best thing was the music they played tbh. I’ve never gotten unseasoned food from a soul food restaurant before. Unpleasantly surprised
