We visited here on a Thursday night. Place was empty. Staff was very friendly. We both started with salads, but the blue cheese dressing was very runny. Not even 5 minutes had gone by, and they were already bring out the entrees. We had to ask to have them put in a warmer while we finished our salads. I had the ribeye, but only had a few bites because of its poor taste. It tasted like a cheap piece of meat. We had them take the steak off of the bill completely, because I didn’t want a replacement. Again, the staff was friendly enough. But the best way to describe this steakhouse is perfectly average. The drinks were well made. But we could’ve went to Applebee’s for the same level of food quality.

I came here on 11/20/2024. Ordered medium rare steak. The first one that came was over cooked and was well done. I wait for my waiter for like 10 minutes. But then an older lady asked if everything was ok. I told her about my steak and she was able to got me a new one. Great service from the older lady working there. And good shrimp.

This is a nice clean restaurant attached to the Golden Nugget Casino. It has a nice atmosphere to it. The menu is small which I like. Still a nice variety on it. The staff was great. The food however wasn’t what I’d expect. The fries came out cold and hard. The manager was nice and took them off the bill. She offered to replace them but I wasn’t interested. The cheesecake was fantastic. The burger looked like a frozen patty. Maybe it wasn’t but it didn’t have a fresh look. I substituted a cup of soup for the side of fries it came with and they charged me full price for the soup and didn’t give a side of fries. This place could use a little help in the kitchen. I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t go there again but I wouldn’t go out of my way. It is continently located off I-74 5 miles from the Indiana boarder.

The restaurant looks really nice but that’s about where it stops. It took an hour to get food, and no one’s steak was actually cooked right. Ordered mine as a medium-well and I was amazed it wasn’t still breathing, it was so rare. The potatoes were ice cold and the grilled shrimp was barely warm.

I really thought some of these reviews were going to be wrong since we’d heard such good things about this place when it opened. Sad to say it was a major disappointment and we would never return. Not to mention, they ran our card twice, and we had to flag someone down for an explanation. Service was rough and it looked really short staffed.

I thought as a dedicated Steak House it would be better than a place like Applebee’s or a local Bar. But I was wrong. Service was woefully slow, and I think there were more people working and serving than eating. I had the Sirloin and Shrimp, and the Baked Potato as a side. I should have saved my money and just went to McDonalds. The Mashed Potatoes looked like they were out of a box, and overly dried on top.

I would have expected more for the price. Service was also bad and slow.

Replace this place with a Waffle House, and I would be happier.

UPDATE:
Landry’s who owns Saltrgrass reaching out for me to directly comment, however there is no option for the Danville Saltgrass location to comment. Obviously didn’t set it up in your customer feedback system.

Went to Saltgrass for my husband’s birthday, grave mistake. We were told upon entry that we would not be seated until all reservations were seated, bar seating was then offered and we accepted, mistake number two. Bartender did promptly serve bread and drinks but had to be prompted to provide us menus at which time the couple next to us who had been there long enough to consume their bread said we need menus too. The bartender took their order as she should and then ours. Their food came out fairly promptly. We continued to wait. Couple finished their meal chatted with bartender and then looked at us and said we hope you get your food soon. Unfortunately we did not get our food in fact the manager(?) came out after over an hour of waiting and stated we’re busy, no apologies just finger pointing. We said ring up our drinks and appetizer, we are leaving. No offers of compensation just a glare. I paid our bill tipped the bartender generously, not sure why and left. Definitely not “award winning” service.

Enjoyed dinner at Saltgrass! Bread was fantastic, potato soup was very good and filet (6oz) was perfect size and tasted great. Our server Trisha was outstanding! Ask for Trisha, you will not be disappointed! We will be back again!

The service was top notch. We had the country fried steak and the chicken fried chicken. The chicken and mashed potatoes were good, but the country fried steak was tough and hard to chew. The Mac and cheese side was dry and disappointing also. We did not try any actual steaks this visit but I’ve heard they are very good and will be the choice next time.

If you’re gonna charge high prices for your steaks, you should probably go with high-quality meat as well. I don’t even know if this steak is considered class B meat probably the worst cut of steak I’ve ever had in my entire life will not be returning to your restaurant, I’d rather go to steak ‘n Shake and spend 20 bucks and have a better meal.

We have tried this restaurant three times, and just can’t get excited about it. We have tried different things. Chicken friend steak was not one that we preferred, but it’s a steakhouse. The new cook overcooked our table’s food (That’s what they told us was the delay), so we had to wait a little longer as they redid it. No problem. My steak was overcooked, the chicken was horribly gristly, and the mashed potatoes were not horribly good. Th amount of customers seemed to infer it was not meeting expectations.

Two things we have had that are pretty good: the Jalapeño appetizer, and the cheesecake. The chocolate cake for dessert is very poor.
