The quality of the steak was good. However, I barely even noticed the cheese and onions, and the sandwich was topped with what looked and tasted like a pizza sauce rather than steak sauce. I’ve had cheap fantastic gas station steak & cheese sandwiches that knocked my socks off in comparison. Sorry guys… 🙁
On the flip side, the french fries were generously fresh cut with that deep fried (but not greasy) deliciousness that takes you back to good ol’ days on the boards (hot and crispy on the outside, just as I like it). That and the accompanying aolis is what saved the meal.
My suggestion would be to work on improving your steak sandwiches (and add more sandwich selections), or eliminate the sandwiches altogether and stick with the incredible world-class pizzas.
We ordered the new seasonal special Diablo, to share, and it disappeared in greedy joy before I could stop for a picture. And yes, the CRUST is so well made, light but crispy, flavorful, it should not be wasted. Then later, we came back again for dinner, and tried the famous cheesesteak classic – with added mushrooms! – and another seasonal special pie, the Eggplant (pictured below). May I say, it was a soft yet satisfying and smoky mouthful of summer.
This food is made with love, AND knowledge. Beautiful, well balanced, created with care.
I must try everything on the menu.
Thank you for bringing pizza back to life, Rendezvous!
The prices are certainly higher, and the cheesesteaks aren’t quite the same, but the new rendezvous certainly does not disappoint. The food is phenomenal and the wood fire pizzas are the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. 10/10, will keep coming back again and again.
The food is outstanding. Their pizza is some of the best in town, and the staff was amazing. We didn’t have to wait very long, and the food was just as we had hoped.
I feel like the prices are maybe a couple dollars too high, just a smidge lower and I think it could easily be a frequent order for me.
Would absolutely recommend.
There aren’t that many!
Anyway, this place is excellent. Easily the top 3 pizza places in Lancaster. Sweet sauce but too sweet and not the generic sauce that tastes like a bucket of McCormick seasoning was dumped in it.
The sopressata was very spicy but not too hot, which goes perfectly on the 4 cheese pizza white pizza. The margherita pizza was equally as delicious.
I wish they had birch beer, but I guess I can’t have it all.
We will be back!
Cheap pizza in EVERY town
Chain pizza restaurants
Somehow really good mom & pop shops that look like the every town pizzas, but taste great
And artisan or specialty pizza
This place is the last. Absolutely incredible. I got the margarita pizza and the sauce was savory with a good spice to it, not spicy, but not the sweet sauce some places put on margarita pizzas. I LOVED it. The crust wasn’t my favorite, but the sauce, mozzarella, and oil was great. Basil a little heavy, but it’s easy enough to eat around. If you want a fine dining, perfect proportion the whole way through, you’ll probably end up heading to NYC and paying $29 for the same pizza with “the perfect amount of everything” in some critics opinion. The staff is also incredibly friendly and the service is just great.
I would 100% recommend this place in Lanc. Lived here about 8 years and this has been my favorite. Some other faves are faves in the other categories. If you want a mastered pizza that’s reasonably priced with insanely good flavor, come here.
After reading a lot of reviews, figured I’d edit this info in, 1 margarita pizza which was ~$13 with tax, I paid $15.some change for it after a 10% tip because the staff was so friendly off the bat. By the way, tipping is optional, hence why it has the option for custom or skip tip. Tip culture is screwed up these days, my main job for 4 years was tip based. It’s your decision, but as a previous food worker who WAS NOT a server, tips are not expected. I agree, don’t tip if there’s no service. My opinion was their friendliness was worth an extra dollar to me personally. Do as you wish when the screen tells you it’s your choice…
