Staff were very friendly and attentive; it was Christmas Day and they were a bit short of staff, so the bartender actually came to our table to check on us when our waitress was occupied, so we were well taken care of.
Appetizers were delicious (bruchetta and arancini,) Steaks were good, dessert portions generous. Very yummy cannoli! Excellent raspberry lime rickys from the bar.
The oysters were super fresh and the calamari was perfectly crispy (probably the best we have had around Greater Boston). Will definitely come back!
What crossed the line was that Chelsea repeatedly came over to me to tell me to cover up or adjust my dress. My dress was a spaghetti strap style and slightly low cut, but it was not inappropriate, revealing, or in violation of any reasonable dress code. Each time she approached me, my outfit was completely unchanged and appropriate for a hotel bar setting. It felt targeted, embarrassing, and unnecessary.
To make matters worse, Chelsea and another customer appeared personally offended by my outfit and treated it as if it were a problem they needed to correct. This was incredibly uncomfortable and inappropriate. No one should be singled out or policed for their clothing in that manner.
When we brought this issue to restaurant management, the response was disappointing. The restaurant manager, Alex, did not apologize for the bartender’s behavior and instead repeatedly stated that another customer was uncomfortable with my outfit and that this justified confronting me. He claimed this was their policy, which is frankly shocking. A hotel bar allowing staff to repeatedly confront guests about their clothing based on another patron’s discomfort is unacceptable.
I do want to note that the hotel manager, Rich, was helpful and friendly when we spoke with him, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that did not change how disrespected and embarrassed I felt overall.
This experience was not aligned with the level of professionalism or hospitality I expect from a Marriott property. I would strongly caution others, especially women, about visiting this bar if this is how guests are treated.
We sampled the packed charcuterie board the chicken pesto pizza and must get baseball sized arancini
The tender steaks like the filet are the stars but my Salmon Papillote presentation was a head turner
And the Carrot cake and flourless chocolate cake end the night.

The service was horrible tho. I had a reservation and after waiting for a host to appear for 10 minutes, went to sit at the bar, where I also was ignored. I had to flag someone down to just get a seat so I could get dinner. The waitress seemed overworked and flustered as if the management didn’t make sure there was enough people working.
