What a great find! Love this little shop with a collection of some of life’s joys… coffee, wine mezcal and more. The coffee drinks were delicious. Highly recommend this place for a stop.

This place is a super cool new liquor and spirits store with a little bit of everything that goes with booze. There are some cool gifts in here and a bunch of neat snacks and treats. I met one of the owners, Carmen, when I stopped in for my first time today. She knows her stuff, and is really friendly. Thanks for opening up here. We have needed a place like this for awhile. Wish them the best and hope they get lots of business.

We’re so lucky to have Desierto in our neighborhood – they have the best curation! We mostly go for natural/funky wines but also pick up gifts for friends and shop the specialty foods since we don’t have much access in our local grocery stores. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable – definitely the spot to stock up for the weekend or to pick up something special for a dinner party.

Delicious coffee. Nice selection of high end grocery products. On the pricey side but sort of comes with the territory

Great little coffee bar with snacks pantry items, pickles, baked goods, cheese and sandwiches on the go. The staff is friendly and the vibe is Brooklyn bodega (open and blasting music) in the best way. I love their non alcoholic drinks selection too. The wines and spirits selection are also special.

Local neighborhood shop which has a range of pantry food, spirits wine and beers. They serve good coffee here as well.

Drove all the way from Cat City to visit this place only to discover that Desierto Alto had switched to summer hours and was closed. Is it too much to ask store owners to keep their hours up to date on Google Maps and other popular sites when those hours have seasonal variations? Waste of time and gas. Won’t be returning.

Wake up Yucca Valley! We’ve a wonderful new Bodega in town! Great coffee drinks & excellent customer service [three visits so far].
A nice high bar w/ a view of the surrounding hills & ample seating. Easy parking .
The spirits selection is off the scale for our little place in the sun, I spied many bottles you can’t get anywhere but here ay Desierto Alto. Tons of good noshing material too.
You can grab & go, or hang out w/ a coffee drink, all YV’ers would agree we have desperately needed some new culinary blood in our neck of the woods. Best of luck to our new Bodega!

Best coffee in yucca valley & Joshua tree! Great local goods & beer/liquor.
Hands down would choose this over Starbucks. Support local businesses while you’re in the area

while I love the ambiance and appreciate the great wine selection here as well as some of the yummy snacks etc, even if things are pretty overpriced (bottle of Empress Indogo Gin $50 here compared to $36 at Vons!) I was happy to shop here and support this business. But…we recently came in to buy a bottle of wine and a bag of chips to consume while we watched the oscar’s. checked the price of the wine – a reasonable $28, picked up a bag of chips labeled as Vandy Classic Potato Chips and off we went to enjoy our evening. when we tasted the chips we noticed a strange flavor, not what you would recognize as “classic” potato chip. upon investigation we discover we have paid $16 (!!!!) for a bag of potato chips that have been cooked in beef tallow and in very small letters on the back say Not Suitable for Vegetarians.
I have two problems with these chips – one is that I am a vegetarian and the other is that they cost $16!! for a bag of chips!!
so disappointed and feel so completely ripped off. seriously – if you are going to sell ridiculously overpriced potato chips then at least make sure your customers are aware that they are cooked in beef fat.
Just no….
