I travel from New Haven county to Stratford just for their steak egg and cheese with lettuce and tomatoes on a hard roll because it’s soo YUMMY. However my husband thought the meat had a lot of cartilage in it which made very chewy. The meat itself was good. Due to the cook not doing a clean cut, it made the sandwich fall apart. Those are my only complaints, otherwise the taste of the sandwich was amazing.

Walked 3 blocks to get there, on the enthusiastic suggestion of another driver..
He was correct, I was not disappointed.
I had a small bowl of fish soup. No complaints there. (I even got two pieces of shrimps in the mix :-).
Then I had a small portion of rice n beans with goat meat, along with 3 pices of fried plantains.
Washed it all down with an iced down Tamarind drink.
Is it just me? Or did the food taste better and the service more wonderful because all the female servers are so so Cute?!!

I wish I could give you a review on the food but the service was so bad that I didn’t order anything. I was ignored for the initial 10 minutes I was in there even though both of the ladies working saw me standing there. No “I’ll be right with you” or “just a moment” Nothing. After a while of standing in line I hear a guy ordering a bacon egg & cheese at the front counter so I think that’s where I have to go to order. Once there I’m ignored yet again and by that point it’s just not worth it. Food looked good, service needs improvement.

I’ve gotten food from here a couple times already. The food is great and definitely not disappointed. Got the beef stew with white rice and beans. Second time i got the steak and onions and it came with beans and an entire plate of rice. Price was only $11 for the beef stew and $14 for the steak.

I go there regularly. I got the pork with plantains. Everything was dry and I couldn’t finish the meal. How can you go wrong with the guerito. The plantains were burnt. I was disappointed . I’ll give it a break for awhile. I haven’t seen the original owners.

My first time here and I enjoyed everything! It was pretty busy when I went to pickup my order on lunch time. Definitely coming back to try something else.

One of the best Latin restaurants I’ve been to. Great food and the service is really good. I have lunch here whenever I’m in town.

This spot’s a solid choice for lunch, and I’m not surprised given the fair prices and generous portion sizes. The real star of the show is the Pastelon – it’s worth every bite, and I’d love to see it on the menu more often.
The mofongos are consistently good, and I’ve got a soft spot for the chicken mofongo with rice and beans and maduros on the side. It’s a reliable go-to.
One thing to note is the crowd dynamic – it’s best to avoid the noon rush if you can, things calm down nicely after 3 pm. Service is friendly, and the bilingual staff makes it easy for everyone to order. Parking’s a breeze too, thanks to the attached lot and proximity to the highway.
If you’re craving authentic Spanish flavors, this place is definitely worth a visit.
