We wanted to love this place, but sadly it we left disappointed. The service was good. The atmosphere was bland.. IMO, turn down the lights a little and add some more decor. Our steaks were not great. My husband ordered the 12 oz waygu ribeye, medium rare and while it was cooked properly, it was tough. The flavored steak butters and steak seasoning was on point. The sides were slightly under salted, but good overall. The Brie appetizer was pretty tasty, however the pistachios were stale.

I recently dined at your establishment, and while I see great potential in what you’re offering, I wanted to share some feedback about my experience.

The concept of your restaurant is excellent, and I truly hope you can refine some aspects to match the expectations it sets. Here are a few thoughts:

Service: The service was slower than anticipated. With a bit more efficiency, the experience could be significantly enhanced.

Food:

The artichoke dip was delicious and a highlight of the meal.

Unfortunately, the filet fell short. It was overly salty and lacked tenderness.

The cheesecake was underwhelming. It was dense and seemed as though it had just come out of the freezer, which affected the overall dessert experience.

Ambiance: The lighting in the dining area was quite bright, which detracted from the atmosphere. Consider dimming the lights to create a more welcoming and relaxed vibe.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. I genuinely believe in your concept and hope these suggestions are helpful in enhancing the overall dining experience. I look forward to seeing the improvements on my next visit!

I was really excited to try the Forge and finally got the opportunity last night with a couple girlfriends. Being a Celina local, I was looking forward to a place to get a great steak. I did not get a steak, almost had a heart attack when I saw the prices. Upon reading the reviews, I’m glad now that I did not. They definitely have some work to do in that regard.

I’ll start with the decor. It is very basic, I think they were going for rustic, but it just looks plain and not like a high-end steakhouse at all. There is metal sheeting on the wall, lots of hanging bulbs that flickered the entire meal. Not sure if that is an electrical issue or what, but it was really strange.

It was very warm inside, they had a little AC unit blowing in the corner, but we were all, sweating by the end of the meal. There was really no decor on the wall, being an interior designer. That is my first thing I’m going to observe and was really underwhelmed with their aesthetic choices. If it’s a high-end steakhouse that they are looking for, they definitely need to rebrand and revise in my opinion.

We were seated promptly and the server was friendly enough. The owner did stop by and welcome us, nice guy. I understand that they’ve been open for about six weeks and have made some changes based on client reviews, and yelp certainly had more negative reviews than Google I am seeing after the fact.

I got the salmon for dinner, Caesar salad and asparagus for the side. The salmon was tasty enough, the asparagus was overcooked. My friend got the pecan crusted chicken, I tried a piece and it was really bland. She got a Caesar salad as well and a side of green beans.

I would suggest offering a lower price steak option, reconfiguring the tables and putting in a stronger AC unit to facilitate the space and doing some thing about all of that glaring Sheetmetal. Add some decor and art, add some soundproofing, music and address the flickering lights.

I’m hoping that they can tweak and become successful, the area definitely needs a high-end presence, and would probably pay it if the ambience and food warrants it. But my experience was only a 3 star currently, sad to say.

We visited The Forge for our first time tonight. I want to be supportive of a local business but feel like it is important to give an honest review. The food was very good. Our steak was tasty but it did not come with the seasoned butter on top as advertised. Maybe you have to specifically ask for it. The loaded potato was good but did not have butter on it or if it did it was very little. We requested extra butter and when we got it , then it was cold and hard and the potatoe was not warm enough to melt it. The salad bar was very bare and the dressings that were thick were difficult to get out of the bottle. I did enjoy the “crackers” on the salad bar but they were in large pieces and some people were breaking them with their fingers and leaving pieces they had touched. We got the artichoke dip that was good as an appetizer. Now to the service. We had a reservation and was seated promptly. Our waitress was very nice and friendly but her service was very slow. We had to ask another server to refill our drinks the one time we had them refilled. At times we needed things and our waitress was no where in sight. We waited 10 minutes to ask for butter for our potatoes. Our worst scoring was based on the atmosphere. They only had 4 booths that would seat only 2 people per booth. There was no privacy. The booth areas were very open and all other tables available were in an open area. Therefore it was difficult to have a conversation once they began to fill and get busy. The seats were too low for the high table. I was expecting a more fine dining atmosphere for the prices but it was a very casual atmosphere. Our biggest complaint was the air conditioning. Either they were experiencing some problems or it was not large enough to handle the area it served. My husband was soaking wet from sweat by the time we left, and if I had not been with him, he would have definitely walked out solely due to the heat. All the workers were red in the face and were sweating. Oh top of the air conditioning problem, they also seemed to be experiencing electrical problems as well. Every time the bartender would turn on the blender to make a drink at the bar, the lights would flicker and dim.

They definitely have some things to work on and I hope this honest review will help them work on the areas that need improvement but be encouraged by the things they are doing right. We will give them a second chance due to the great tasting food.

This is an extremely unique opportunity to have a high end steak experience with a wonderful piece of local history. I have now been twice and wish I could steer you clear of a miss, but unfortunately there isn’t one. The cream corn is a must, the tallow fries are off the chain, and don’t forget to go big and get your slice of Pecan Pie.

Now… the star of the show is their ribeye. I have consumed high end steak houses all over the country and this is on my top 10 list easily.

We couldn’t be happier to have a true steakhouse so close to home. The Forge never dissapoints, we have been here about 4-5 times since they opened as a family of 6 and our meals are always fantastic. We dream about their cheeseburgers and beef tallow fries. As a mom who is always looking to feed our children meals with fresh and clean ingredients, I really appreciate the fact that they don’t use nasty seed oils to fry their potatoes. The beef tallow makes the fries taste amazing and they are so crunchy and just delicious!

Service is also always wonderful, everyone is very welcoming, professional and attentive. We will definitely continue to visit this gem in our town!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Forge 1912, the new steakhouse in Celina, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a wonderful meal.

We started with the crab cake appetizer, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was clear that quality ingredients were used. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a tasty starter.

Now, let’s talk about the main event – The Forge Elevated burger! I can confidently say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Juicy, flavorful 8oz Akaushi Wagyu patty and cooked to perfection, it’s a must-try for anyone who appreciates a great burger.

Although we did experience a longer wait due to a large party in the restaurant, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. They kept us informed about the delay and made sure we felt valued as customers. It’s always nice to see a team that cares about their guests’ experience.

Overall, Forge 1912 is a fantastic addition to Celina’s dining scene. With great food and attentive service, I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu!

My husband got us a time slot for their soft opening. We had the crab cake appetizer, which was one of the best I’ve ever had, it was perfectly seasoned. And we indulged in the wagyu selections: the 8oz filet mignon and the 12oz New York strip. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. The filet mignon, in particular, was a standout, melting in the mouth with every bite. While the baked sweet potato was just okay and didn’t stand out as much, the cream corn was really good and creamy. We tried both the regular margarita and the prickly pear margarita, alongside another cocktail they’re all good! I dont like the building in general and the sun shine direct to my eyes (8pm-ish) but we didnt go there for the place and we’ll go back for the food and drinks! Overall, The Forge delivered a fantastic dining experience, highly recommended the wagyu steaks with herb butter garlic butter toppings.

We really wanted to love this place and hope when we give it a second chance it will be better and I can update this review. Mainly wanted to share feedback as they are now officially open.

Pros:
-Easy reservation system
-Parking is easy
-Staff was friendly
-The menu is very easy to understand with easy descriptions.
-Seemed like good quality beef, but a little over salted (8oz Filet Wagyu) 9/10
-Mac was very very good 10/10

Not cons, but the underwhelming:
-We didn’t expect the building to be 1 or 2 big rooms. The echo was very loud and even though we had a reservation we went ahead and sat at three bar. The partition helped some if you are in the bar.
-The build out didn’t seem to match their online marketing. Online it appears much more high end.(Personal opinion-Much more casual than the website presents.)
-The bar area has 0 character. Literally nothing on the walls (hopefully temporary given its recency) and the concrete bar top seems too wide in depth for the staff to reach patrons.
-We are not overly large people and the bar stools were very unstable and felt like they would collapse at any moment.
-Were the steak fries were previously frozen? Ours were not cooked through all the way when we received them.
-Baked potato also not cooked all the way and was cold.

Overall, we are grateful you all have brought a different and good option to Downtown Celina and will definitely be giving it one more try.

I expected/hoped for really good. Not so much. It’s new so it didn’t surprise me that the staff didn’t know a few things on the menu but the food was just meh. I read reviews before I went – so I skipped the steak and had a burger and the shrimp appetizer. For the price it just wasn’t worth it. And yes the AC is an issue (mentioned in other reviews). I wish them well. It would be nice to have a date night place that’s awesome but not yet on this one.
