My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner. The staff was very friendly! Outside seating was nice! They even sang happy birthday to a guest which was very sweet!!

The food was great! We got the following:
Irish Coffee – very strong
Surf and Turf as a Wet Burrito – 10/10
Tampiquena – 8/10

A very lovely outdoor/indoor restaurant with easy access for people who have strollers or wheelchairs. I enjoyed a lovely trio of chicken tacos. The chips were standard fare. The location was excellent- in the heart of San Diego’s Old Town. The server was cordial, helpful, and very efficient!

I will be back!

Joel was amazing, and the food was outstanding especially the chips, salsa, and carne asada. What truly made the evening special was Joel’s exceptional service. Even though it was close to closing time, he kindly lit the fire for us and patiently took care of all our needs. Thank you, Joel, for such a great experience. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Old Town.

I don’t recommend it, pricy and the food was lacking. It’s in the bustling part of Old Town, but did little to maintain my wonderment of the traditional food celebrated there.

It took 30 minutes for my food to arrive which I got the 3 different tacos to try from . The chicken was dry, the beef was dry and salty, the pork was okay but seems to have the only flavor in the entire dish. No toppings, I was hoping for lime or something to add to it, but maybe that’s just my expectation. The churro ice cream was good though, that did have a lot there and I enjoyed it while waiting for the rest of my meal

It seemed understaffed and so we were sure not to rush our servers but tables were left unattended and we watched as servers run around. They were kind and deserve patience as they deal with all the tourist.

But for the price we were paying I would expect more presentation and more quality to the food.

The band was absolutely fantastic!!
Casa de Maria’s margarita was the cherry on top, refreshing and perfectly balanced.

I really enjoyed the time spent there. Tacos were awesome, margarita…. yes, I checked other comments and I have to say, that it was one of the best margarita I ever had. Live music, or semi-live, I should say, was really nice. Everyone around very helpful and nice. Personally, I recommend this place.

First time coming here and I don’t think I will come here to dine again. Unfortunately, was not a good time and evening to visit… at least that’s what I’d like to think.

Customer service:
There appeared to be one server (he was the only one we saw that was attending the customers). It took a while for him to get to everyone. There was a 4% surcharge to which we asked what was that charge for and our server couldn’t explain exactly why.
The unattended tables had used dishes and as we and other customers came in we couldn’t find a clean table where to seat. I want to think that there were not enough employees, but it does not make it appealing or welcoming.

Food:
There was no more chips and salsa.
Tampiqueña: Overall good, except the meat’s seasoning was not of my liking.
Combination 3 (Chile relleno, red enchilada, rice and beans. It was okay.
But what can you expect from a watered down “mexican” restaurant.
Flavor and spicy we’re definitely missing.

Drinks:
We asked for a Pina colada and margarita, and well, there was not a minimum taste of the rum or tequila.
