As a fish connoisseur I tried both menus, the sushi was outstanding . The catch of the day I waited for quite some time but it came out cold. Overall good experience, had to sit at the bar as it was so busy.

This place has so many delicious looking options that it was hard to decide. We finally ask for our server’s opinion, and I ended up with the shrimp and chorizo fettuccine. It was delicious. The Alfredo sauce was not overly heavy and the shrimp were perfectly cooked.

This place was highly recommended for dinner during my visit to Tuscaloosa and I have to say I was very underwhelmed.

SERVICE: The service was AMAZING. Our waitress was friendly and attentive

ATMOSPHERE: Eh it was nice. Typical Steakhouse vibe

FOOD: Less than desirable. I had the stuffed shrimp and the bread pudding. The best thing in my meal was the mashed potatoes and coconut ice cream.

Stuffed Shrimp- DON’T PURCHASE. The bacon on the outside was burnt and tasted as such, which borderline ruined the taste of the crab meat inside. The potatoes saved this whole dish! The asparagus was I under cooked as well.

Bread Pudding- this was huge disappointment. It was mushy and lacked flavor that I have had in many other bread puddings.

Note: Please tell people that ice cream with this is an extra charge of $5.00.. although it is recommended to you with ice cream, with no mention of an additional cost.

OVERALL: 5/10
Service was the win for this experience for sure. The money spent here was not worth the meal I had though.

Food was Delicious! I had the zoo roll and rock and roll sushi. Started eating before taking pics. Everyone enjoyed their food! The waitress was great! There was a wait but it was well worth it.

Update…not sure what happened tonight 8/21/2025 but I had to ask for my waiter, order sushi from the secret menu, the steak on it was overcooked, and my fettuccine dish had little to no flavor. I am disappointed because the food and service is normally good.

WE LOVE CHUCK’S

Fun atmosphere, excellent service, AMAZING SUSHI!

If you want the “fun” and “it” place to be in Tuscaloosa it is certainly Chuck’s. Everything on the menu is top notch but the Red Light District Roll, Destin Roll [add cream cheese] and the Hot Honey Pizza are the winners. Also, the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita is excellent. The staff is so friendly and the bartenders are great.

Chuck’s is a must for anyone visiting the city.

Love the food and the staff’s attention. Great cocktails and quality food. Even if there was a mishaps with the ice cream I could not be upset after the kind attention of our server. I would go back anytime and most definitely recommend

Had a group of 7 and our waitress kept our drinks refilled and made excellent recommendations. I had the tuna and it was seared perfectly and the sauce was slightly spicy. The parm crusted grouper with risotto was a huge hit too.

Chuck’s Fish is located downtown Tuscaloosa and is one of my favorite restaurants in Tuscaloosa. The food is always fresh and the service is always great. If you have a large party I would come early if you don’t want to wait. If it’s game day you definitely need to plan ahead. The sushi is great, actually some of the best. There pizzas are also excellent. It’s all great!

We recently dined at Chuck restaurant and left extremely disappointed, especially considering the steep prices. The atmosphere was overwhelmingly loud due to the excessive echo, making it necessary to almost shout to have a conversation.

We started with the stuffed shrimp, which was excellent, but the ahi tuna was a major letdown. It was overly spicy, masking any flavor of the tuna, and the vegetables that accompanied it had a strange smell and taste.

We waited 45 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes for our food. To top it off, the sushi we ordered didn’t arrive until after we had finished our meal and dessert. The final bill for two, without drinks and excluding the sushi, came to over $110.

Overall, the service and food did not justify the cost, and we won’t be returning.

Visited on a Friday when football game was away. Arrived around 5:30 pm. Parking about 3 to 4 blocks away. Once inside, seated quickly with immediate service. Spring roll appetizer was excellent. Blackened mahi mahi with an ettoufe was excellent and made me feel like I was back in New Orleans. My buddy had the seared Tuna , which was excellent also. Will definitely visit again on my next trip through Tuscaloosa.
