Reviews
The service was attentive and friendly. The kitchen was on fire this visit, our party of six with various orders had our food on the table in less than 10 minutes! Fabulous!
The food was hot and fresh, the portions rather large, especially their namesake pancakes. Eggs Benedict and beef hash were as expected, the boy LOVED the pancakes with Boston cream and Nutella, the mini waffles were the perfect portion for our light eating 11 year old, and our friends were very happy with their burrito and grilled cheese. Looking around the restaurant people were starting to order lunch. The burgers were HUGE and double decker sandwiches enough for two to share.
The prices were fair for the portions given and superior service. We were very happy with our visit, and you will likely be, too.
Lincoln Square Pancake House (LSPH)
It was a busy Tuesday morning in October, and we had a colleague driving in from Cincinnati to meet with us. Traffic was horrible for him. What should have been an hour-and-a-half drive had turned into three hours.
We arrived at LSPH at 10:30 but quickly received a message that it would be another 45 minutes before our colleague arrived. We prepared to wait and let our server, Renata, know about the delay.
She was kind, gracious, and very understanding! Despite being very busy, Renata never let our drinks run empty while we waited. She never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her because of our colleague’s delayed arrival. I kept thinking about the skill she displayed doing her job, connecting with her customers, and she looked like she was genuinely having fun.
At 11:15, everyone had arrived, and Renata went into full service mode. She guided us through food selections, made insightful recommendations, and kept us smiling and laughing the whole time.
The food came out so quickly that we were all impressed. It looked and smelled delicious, and it tasted as good as it looked. The portions were generous, and we all took leftovers home. I remember feeling a sense of gratitude for the experience she was cultivating while we focused on our meeting.
We spent the next hour catching up and working through our business agenda. The whole time, Renata was present but never intrusive. When it came time to pay, she was there with the bill, to-go boxes, and a warm send-off.
I haven’t been a regular patron of LSPH, but I will be in the future. You should check it out. The prices are good, the food is excellent, and the portions are generous. And if you’re over on Shadeland Avenue around 71st, and if Renata is working, ask for her. She made our good meal great with her attitude and service!
Service is prompt and friendly, with some occasional witty banter.
Portions are large and always have quality ingredients. I have a couple substitutions in my order and it’s right every time.
There aren’t many places like this still around. Savor and appreciate it!
