I was afforded a visit to The Admiralty Lounge for my birthday dinner last month. Today I continue raving about the mouth-watering meal we shared – Cold Smoked Oysters & Red Snapper. Excellent menu, tasteful atmosphere, marvelous drinks.
Another high note of mention: staff maintained the most appropriate, genuine, & courteous conduct – in all my experience, this is the standard that many businesses, restaurants, and other public services fail to meet. To me, that speaks to how this establishment functions as a whole, and how content the employees are.
I look forward to visiting again; an overall phenomenal experience.

Excellent menu with unique flavors that stand out but respect classic tastes people are used to. Always appreciative of places that do non alcoholic cocktails well. Very quiet on a Thursday afternoon, no rush, definitely the time to go.

After trying to walk into three other top-rated restaurants in downtown Bellingham on a Friday night in June with a party of five, The Admiralty Lounge had an open table. Initially going for just a drink, we stayed for dinner. We’re glad we did. Here’s our experience.
1) Food: We started with the salmon dip, which everyone really loved. It comes with little toasted bread slices.
The menu is heavy seafood, but there are a few options without. Walking in hungry, I ordered the deviled eggs, Caesar salad, and the shrimp (all small plates). Each dish was full of flavor and delicious!
2) Drinks: They have a robust menu. Enjoying more sweet drinks, I ordered the Spa Day. I don’t love it. It’s mainly ice and not sweet at all. It wasn’t tart, just muted. I then ordered a local raspberry cider, which was very tasty. (It’s dry cider.)
3) Service: Phenomenal. Everyone was top notch- efficient and personable.

Absolutely wonderful. The drinks, the food (the onion jam on the steak frites is indescribable), the friendliness of staff and the atmosphere – all just perfect. Can’t wait to visit again.

Hello! We reserved dinner on Valentine’s Day because we were attending a performance at the Mt. Baker Theater. We have eaten ate this restaurant many times. We love the food, atmosphere, and service.
As it was Valentine’s Day, the menu was fixed. We paid $80 per person. Not including tip or alcoholic beverages. Although the food was excellent, the portions were small. There was an individual appetizer, individual entree, and shared dessert. My suggestion would be to include at least bread with the meal. Preferably, include soup or salad so that people don’t walk away hungry.
We will return again, but probably not for fixed menu night.

I have been here many times, through a few evolutions of three menu, and it hits every single time.
Sometimes I just want to be full after a meal, that can be found anywhere – but when I want to feel good, satisfied, and truly fulfilled with a dining experience, Admiralty is where I go.
The drinks are on point, and never disappoint. The service is top notch; the likes of which is harder and harder to find nowadays. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The only critique I could ever come up with would be that I want more items on the menu, only because I want to try every flavor they come up with.
Keep doing what you’re doing Admiralty, and I’ll keep coming back!

Best New Year’s dinner. The food was cooked to perfection—which is no small feat with both steak and scallops. The service, however, truly set the experience apart. Mekai and Chelsea were two of the most attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind servers I’ve ever had. I’ve dined here before, which is why we chose it for New Year’s, and it absolutely delivered once again. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

I recently dined at the Admiralty Lounge in Bellingham, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant’s nautical theme is tastefully done, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, which paired well with the great service and the cleanliness of the facilities.
We tried a variety of dishes, and each one was delicious. The Caesar Salad was fresh and flavorful, with a nice balance of anchovies, parmesan, and toasted bread crumbs. The Shiso Wrapped Scallops were a standout—perfectly cooked, with the shiso adding a unique, fresh twist. The Goat Tamales were hearty and well-seasoned, a creative take on a traditional dish. We also enjoyed the crispy Hush Puppies, which were an ideal side snack with a crunchy exterior and soft, flavorful inside. For drinks, the Buoy IPA and Bordeaux wine complemented the meal nicely, adding a rich and refreshing finish.
The only downside was that I had my heart set on the Mussels & Fries, but they were out of stock during our visit. That was a bit disappointing, and it’s the main reason I’m knocking off one star.
Nonetheless, Admiralty Lounge is a gem in Bellingham with its delicious food and lovely nautical ambiance. I’ll definitely be back to try the Mussels and Fries!

Everything was top-notch! Here for the first time, for my bday dinner. We all left very happy! Super tasty garlic shrimp and roasted beets & carrots for apps. My curry mussels w/ fries were exceptionally good! Best mussels i think ive ever had. Sauce was bowl-lickable. Fries were high quality. My cocktail was great. Friends had the lamb-beef burger and said “that may have been the best burger ive ever had!”. And the owner was super friendly. And I love the space – fun motif, lots of windows, cool bar! Definitely will return!

This was our first time eating here, decided to try it for date night. We got deviled eggs, Ceasars salad kale salad smoked oysters, cocktails and the creole steak. The kale salad and deviled eggs were fairly good. The oysters were awful, dry with over smoked flavor. The steak was horrible, chewy, unseasoned and zero flavor with what tasted like a warmed can of rotel tomatoes on top. We were so disappointed to pay $80 for a dish that was almost untouched. The staff didn’t ask once how we liked our meal or if everything was okay, probably because they knew it wasn’t favorable or didn’t care. Super disappointing, will not go back.
