I stayed at the Omni just 500 feet from Baja Rick’s. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and lively. We ordered the Street Taco Sampler and Gnarly Nachos which was more than enough food. Their happy hour was awesome, with 32 ounce coors for $12. The margaritas were very good as well. Delicious food and excellent drinks. Strongly suggest.

This is a very fun pre Padre game place with lots of beer pre game specials. I wasn’t there for pre game, I wanted to try the lobster tacos. They were tasty but for $21 it was more sized like an appetizer. Very good taste. Look at picture with fork.

Order at the counter and seating is self serve.
Good: The location is great. Easy to get to from the convention center. Burgers good. Tacos ok. Love the sink for hand washing that is in the dining room. It makes it easy to wash hands before eating and after eating.
Bad: The dark rum was not blended with the rest of the drink. The dark rum was simply poured on top of the blended portion, and this made it hard to stir the rum into the drink, especially the way the drink was placed in the cup. The pina colada was put in a squishy plastic cup. Grabbing the cup pushed the drink and dark rum sitting on the top of the blended portion run over the top. My hands kept getting wet and sticky form this so good thing the hand washing sink was easy to get to. The nachos were pretty gross, plain, and devoid of seasoning. My companion took the meat from my tacos and put it on the nachos to make it taste better.

Came here for a quick bite with my family and the food was not too bad. We shared some nachos, fried calamari and a bowl.

Baja Rick’s is the place to go before a Padres game! Conveniently located within close walking distance to Petco Park.
The food is super good.
The service is great and who doesn’t love eating outdoors in America’s Finest City where the weather is always beautiful!

Overpriced. I used to enjoy coming here, but the prices have gotten out of control. Just a year ago, the Chicken Caesar wrap was $12 — now it’s $18 (see pics for proof) That’s a 50% increase with zero noticeable improvement in quality, portion size, service, or ambiance. It’s still the exact same wrap. It’s not even a real sit-down restaurant. And $5 for a fountain drink? That’s just wild for syrup and water.
To make matters worse, my wrap was served with a giant tear down the middle, making it a mess to eat. For $18, I’d expect at least a properly wrapped wrap. (See pic for proof)
On top of that, they’ve added a 5% surcharge to every order to “improve pay and provide health insurance” for the employees. But you’d only see that in the fine print at the bottom of the menu. Was almost doubling the prices not good enough?!

Came here for lunch with my husband, and he ordered the Ricks Burger and I got the Steak and Pepper burrito. Both items were absolutely delicious, and piping hot. My only gripe is that they were also both very wet and messy to eat. The grease actually overflowed in the corner of my burrito basket, spilled on the table, and dripped on my jeans. Had to break out the Tide Pen real quick!
Like I said, flavors and food were delicious, but might need a lot of napkins (or a bib!) if you don’t like getting messy.

It took 28 minutes for my order to get made. I had to ask twice. And I saw AT LEAST other 5 customers who ordered AFTER me to get their orders before me. And the meal I ordered that was advertised “with lobster” had none on it but I was so tired, hungry and pissed that I just ate what I got a left. And that food was, fine, except for the Mexican rice that was dry and crunchy. Didn’t even finish it. Pretty sure rice is not supposed to be crunchy. I get that places get busy but when AT LEAST 5 customers who ordered after me get their orders first, it’s unacceptable. And it’s getting any stars at all because at least the carne asada was flavorful. Other than that, I won’t be going back and don’t recommend others go either.

Love this place! Food is TOP NOTCH! While pricey, the chef is incredible! The staff always look happy and are friendly. While you order and then pick up your food (no wait staff), it seems to make things go faster. Sometimes the line can be long to order, but that usually is because there is an event, so plan accordingly. They also always have games on and its RIGHT next to Petco so eating here before or after a game is great! There is plenty of seating, mostly outside which I love. And the restrooms are clean and very nice too. Truly love this place!

Stop in at Baja Ricks before one of the Padres games for a couple of Beers as we had already eaten before getting there. Baja Ricks is conveniently located across from the Gaslamp Transit station and directly across from the Hard Rock Hotel. Also it’s only a Block and a half away from the Stadium.
We sat outside close to the outdoor Bar area, and it was a very relaxing and easy going atmosphere. Beers were cold and the Bartenders were super nice and friendly as well.
Plus at Baja Ricks before every Padres game, they have nice live music going all the time.
I wish we hadn’t eaten before we got there, as the food we saw everyone having sure looked good.
But there will definitely be a next time when we come back for some Padres games. And next time will definitely be ordering some food…
