I’ve been here twice on two different trips to Amherst! Every dish was a delightful journey into the vibrant and complex flavors of Thai cuisine.

Starting with the pumpkin curry, it was a rich and aromatic dish with the sweetness of the pumpkin complementing the warm Thai spices. A very comforting dish! I couldn’t resist trying the Pad Thai, a classic Thai noodle dish, which did not disappoint! The Siam rolls, we’re one of the crispiest things I’ve ever had! The contrast between the crunchy exterior and the tender, flavorful interior likely makes them irresistible appetizers. I regret eating them all in one sitting but I knew they would be good in a hotel microwave.

The chicken coconut soup, made with a creamy coconut milk base, kaffir lime, tender chicken, mushrooms, and other herbs and spices infused the broth with layers of complex flavors, creating a comforting and aromatic soup that warms the soul. Lastly, the Thai-style basil chicken pan-fried dish was flavorful with tender chicken, aromatic Thai basil, bell peppers, onions, and chilies. This is also a staple of mine when visiting a Thai restaurant and I loved this one!

The service is great, very quick, and polite! I will return here whenever my next trip to Amherst is!

It was really empty and quiet when we visited Friday night, no music or other customers. But it was a nice way to get away from the college kids partying outside. The Pad Thai and Pad See You plates were delicious! I do wish there was a bit of music playing, though.

Thai food done just right! And fortunately, so many vegetarian options that don’t feel like you’re losing out, getting less. The prices are reasonable, the portions are well done. You can enjoy yourself even with a simple take-out, and have enough leftovers to make another meal of a type of food with its origins far from Amherst

The Taste is situated in the heart of Amherst Center, offering a pleasant dining experience with good service and a minimalistic yet modern decor. It appears to be a family-run business, and the staff are both professional and knowledgeable.

I ordered the Basil Fried Rice, which was reasonably priced. While the portion size was a bit small for sharing, it was sufficient for an individual meal. The dish had a nice kick of flavor without being overly spicy.

Overall, The Taste is a solid choice for Thai food in the area, whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a relaxed date night.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend on December 15th, 2021 and it was also the first time I asked her out. My girlfriend loves curry and I thought this restaurant would be an excellent fit since they have numerous curry options. The price was relatively cheap, the picture shown below is Pha Thai, which costs 8.95 during lunchtime, which is a pretty large portion for a poor college student. When we got there, nobody was there other than the lady who worked there. My girlfriend and I loved the atmosphere, music, lighting, food, and her mango curry. This is a perfect place for dating. Thank you for making the best experience for our first time!

Came here while visiting friends at UMass. Seemed like a pretty cool place. I got the Massaman Curry and it tasted pretty standard. Great thai food in general, but the wait times were pretty long. It seems they’re understaffed — a lot of people came in with take-out orders and there was only one lady balancing that and all the dine-in orders 🙁

The Siam Rolls are good but the Pad Thai is the driest, most bland Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten. The only flavor is that of the slightly burnt, but equally as bland, chicken and the mushy peanuts dumped on top; and the only vegetables are two large, odd chunks of dirty celery.

My experience at The Taste Thai Cuisine in Amherst, MA, was a mix of highs and lows. While the food had its moments of delight, the overall experience left much to be desired.

We decided to opt for take-out and ordered the fresh mango roll, chicken red curry, and fried rice. Unfortunately, the fresh mango roll was a bit of a letdown. Despite its name, there was hardly any mango to be found. Instead, it was overloaded with cabbage and carrot, making it taste more like a vegetable roll rather than the delightful mango-infused treat we were expecting.

On the brighter side, the chicken red curry and fried rice managed to impress. The flavors were bold and authentic, and the chicken was tender, making the curry a standout dish. The fried rice was equally satisfying, packed with rich flavors that complemented the main course perfectly.

However, the service at The Taste Thai Cuisine left much to be desired. When we arrived around 8:40 pm, the establishment was already preparing to close at 9 pm. We inquired if they would still take our order, and they assured us it wouldn’t be a problem, saying they would close around 9 pm. We were cautiously optimistic but proceeded to place our order. The confusion arose when we asked how long it would take to prepare the food. They mentioned it would be ready in 20 minutes. This raised a concern: if the restaurant closes at 9 pm and the food takes 20 minutes to prepare, we were unsure when we could actually pick up our order. It seemed like an organizational oversight that marred the overall experience. Additionally, when we requested plates for our take-out order, we were surprised to find that they had run out of them. This lack of basic supplies detracted from the professionalism of the establishment. The Taste Thai Cuisine in Amherst, MA, offered a somewhat mixed experience. The lack of mango in the fresh mango roll and the absence of plates were noticeable drawbacks. However, the chicken red curry and fried rice did manage to salvage the meal, displaying genuine Thai flavors that satisfied our taste buds. Nevertheless, the confusion over the closing time and food preparation left us feeling somewhat dissatisfied.

This place has always been amazing I’ve been coming here since I was a child and they never disappoint! The food is always great quality and extremely delicious. Never once have I gotten anything cooked badly in the decade + I’ve been eating here. Their meats and vegetables, their appetizers, salads and drinks, literally everything is so so good!! Definitely worth the price and worth a visit I really hope this place never closes shop they’re one of my favorite restaurants to go to.
