Been in Davis for a few years now. Usually go to hunan style or yang kee for Chinese but..m this place is actually kind of a gem. Their griddle dishes are really good, especially the beef, tendon, and beef ball griddle dish. Could be a little spicier but the flavor is pretty good. Beef was super tender, tendon like jelly. And honestly the portions are pretty good for the price. Will definitely keep coming back to try some other dishes.

Fast and kind service. Food was good if you are familiar with Northern style Chinese food. Tender meats and stir fries.
Would not recommend the buns if you are here; get something else instead. The dough is fine enough, but filling is lackluster.

I had lunch at Tasty Palace on 8/21/24. The dining room was far too hot. They left all of their doors wide open and didn’t turn on their air conditioning. The food was fine but who serves beef chow fun with steamed rice. The service. was ok. Overall I gave it only 1-star.

We order 4 dishes: the Sichuan / Hunan style cuisine of boiled beef and lamb and baggage griddle dish were good. The more Cantonese / American style Chinese dishes of wonton soup and sweet and sour pork chops are skippable. Takeaway is they make good authentic Chinese dishes, stay away from the American ones. Upstair seems to be a ktv.

The food here is so good! I’m always for supporting small businesses, and this one is so amazing. I’ve come multiple times during their soft opening phase, and am so excited for their grand opening on Saturday! The broth is so high quality, you can tell it’s been cooking for hours. Service is so kind, they’re eager to answer any questions you may have and are very attentive. I’m so happy that they’re here in Davis, you can’t go wrong with their customized hot pot at all. Thanks to tasty palace for always satisfying my hot pot cravings!!

Was it bad? No. Did I like it? No. The Mongolian Chicken was dominated by far too many of the dried chili pods…and they were pretty tough. Other than that, it was lots and lots of onions, which I do like.
I did really enjoy the ‘handmade bun’ which can be filled differently depending upon the day. Today is was beef, and pretty tasty! The spring rolls though…zero.
This restaurant seems to focus on Door Dash/delivery. Lots of signs advertising their delivery service. I ended up paying $26 for lunch. Just about any other place I could have chosen could have been better for $26.
I left dissatisfied.
