Overall, I’d come back to this place for the sushi quality.
I am writing this from the parking lot after just wrapping up my meal with the utmost frustration over my first visit here.
I had ordered the sesame chicken from the AYCE menu along with the rainbow roll & dinosaur roll. The chicken is not fresh! Clearly premade frozen chicken pieces that you would find bagged at a costco or supermarket and just drenched in sauce. The chicken had perfect uniformity to each piece which is an obvious indicator for frozen premade, pre-breaded chicken. Any other sesame chicken dish I have ordered from a variety of Chinese or Sushi restaurants have small, various sized pieces that show the meat has been recently hand trimmed and flash fried prior to serving. The sauce was absolutely flavorless. I tried to eat 2 pieces of these huge pieces of “chicken” that required multiple bites as they were hard to break apart. The first piece was questionable and after attempting to consume the 2nd piece, i had to spit it out as there was no texture or taste that resembled chicken. After inspecting this so-called meat, it was agreed upon by all in my party that this chicken was nothing but soggy undercooked breading. They were inedible and the rest was untouched.
When the waitress came by to collect plates, she had asked
If I was done and I had started to express my feedback. This woman proceeds to CHALLENGE and DEBATE with me! I was at a loss over the audacity and disrespect. I never asked for a refund or any accommodation, but simply wanted to inform her of my experience! She said “well not every piece is like that”….
NO PIECE SHOULD BE THAT WAY! She then continues to say “we sell this chicken all the time”. I was so offended by this woman’s responses when I was trying to show her what was served. I concluded my statement with that the quality of the food served was poor. Again, I was polite & composed until her defensiveness and I firmly stated she can stop challenging me. This was more embarrassing because there was an occupied table next to us when this was unfolding. she made sure to get the final word in because since I didn’t finish it, she was going to charge me for the full menu price or that I could finish it. Of course I wasn’t going to finish it when I just tried to explain it wasn’t edible, so now you’re suggesting I still finish it to avoid paying more?
So yes, I am absolutely mortified by this experience. By her agreeing that some pieces are like this, but not all of them, she is agreeing that she is aware of the poor quality and similar feedback received. Please, listen to the one star reviews!
The remaining rolls were colorless, smelled questionable and flavorless.
Friendly people and delicious! Ate it all!!!! Try the fried bananas!
