My daughter and I both had off today, so we decided to hit up Fred’s for breakfast. I had a craving for steak and eggs and she went with the corned beef hash. Both plates were very good. I particularly appreciate that they use real potatoes for their hashbrowns, not the frozen/freeze dried crap most places serve up these days.
The service was great, coffee was strong, and our bellies are fullllll.

WOW!!! It is amazing how much awesome they packed in such a little building!
Friendly service and great food for a great price! If you like crispy (not slimey) bacon, this is the place for you.
I was extremly happy when my food arrived, & I had a MOUND of bacon to go with my scrambled eggs. I believe this is the first time I ever finished my eggs and had bacon left over.
I highly recommend Fred’s for a filling breakfast at a great price!

Yep, another 5 star review. There’s nothing like an old school diner, and Fred’s hits the spot in so many ways. Homey atmosphere, quick and efficient service, amazing food, and good blue collar folks. Akron is lucky to have a place like this!

First time here and this place is amazing! This is a diner that all others should aspire to be. Both the employees and other customers were so nice. Delicious and well-priced food! Their motto “Eat, pay, get out!” is perfect because they can get busy but well worth the short wait.

Food is AMAZING! Chicken dumpling soup is probably the best i’ve ever had & service was awesome and real nice waitresses i like how they all work together and not just 1 to a table. This will be my go to place from now on when i come to visit. This place won my heart and taste buds lol

The weird thing is everyone in here, including customers are so nice, and everyone thinks so. While we were there it was very busy and I literally heard several waiting customers say how nice everyone is. Give it a try! No matter how many cars fill the parking lot it’s worth it!

Cute place. The waitstaff were pleasant. They were great until they dropped off the food with the bill. Then we didn’t see them until we were ready to leave. Food was average. They chicken dumplings had little noodles, which was strange. My boyfriend said his burger was good, but he didn’t like the thin fries. Overall, it’s a cute little place but won’t rush back.

Yet another 5 star review I can’t help but leave! We received a gift card from a friend and we’d never been here. I recently moved back to Akron after living out of state for 10 years. I was so pleasantly surprised to be introduced to this local gem. When we came back the next weekend we couldn’t find a parking spot and we didn’t even mind! Happy that they’re staying busy. Can’t wait for the next visit!!
