We tried the waffle, the Southwest chipotle, the chicken and biscuit, and the German chocolate waffles — everything was really tasty
Location-wise it’s very convenient, pretty close to the highway, and the atmosphere inside is great. Service was wonderful too — friendly people and a nice, welcoming atmosphere.
Only downside: it does feel a bit overpriced for what you get. Since they have such great reviews and clearly have a lot going for them, the prices seem a little inflated, and it’s probably not the best option for the average college budget.
That said, students, if your family is in town visiting, this is a great place to bring them. Perfect for an occasional treat when you want good food in a comfortable setting (and your parents are paying for it )

Way back when [the mid-naughts] I first moved out to this side of Michigan, this building was a Big Boy’s. While the outside building still offers a hint of its past, the inside is bright, lively, and tastefully decorated, as you can see in pictures of other reviewers. What a breath of fresh air it has become!
Today, I ordered the gluten free cinnamon role and it came out quickly and was delicous. The inside was moist, warm and so yummy. While we were looking over the menu to order the rest of our meal, the table next to us had their food delivered quickly by several people not long after ordering. For some reason after we ordered, this didn’t happen to our food, and as you can see in the pictures- the eggs had dried and the edges and tops were hard, as they clearly had been prepared quickly and then had sat somewhere for a bit before being brought to our table. You can even see the glistening areas and color difference of the scrambled egg in one of the pictures where I moved some of it around that really shows the difference in the dried out areas. The hash browns were no longer warm, and our cold toast was heavily buttered, but only over the middle section of the piece of toast.
After checking on us after our food arrived, it was 45 minutes before we saw our waitress again. We couldn’t get our check, couldn’t get boxes, and we couldn’t get out of there in a timely manner. I dont know if this was because the restaurant was slowing down and there was not more than 3 other people near our area, or what.
Breakfast for 3, a cinnamon roll, and 2 lattes came out to over $80 before a tip, which I thought was mind boggling expensive for breakfast.
Loads of vegan and gluten free options? Check. Nice decor? Check. Friendly greeters? Check. Oh, last thing… in the women’s restroom one of the sink faucets is broken and all you get is ice cold water to wash your hands with, so use the one on the right.

We have been to Anna’s House in Grand Rapids and loved everything we got. This location really lets the brand down. The billion dollar bacon was just overcooked bacon served with maple syrup – not candied with sweet heat espresso rub. The Monte Cristo was wet & soggy. Fell apart in my hands – the inner part of bread was like wet semi-scrambled egg. The Hollandaise sauce was clearly split as pictured (I ordered a side). The American fries were raw inside and burned on the outside.
Our lattes arrived luke warm and we received an excuse about the wait because of issues with the machine, but I think our waitress just forgot about them. The location is great, the space is beautiful. The food and service need a lot of work.

The food was excellent and filling. We had a newer waitress but she was excellent and we liked her. I split my meal with another person in our party and we still had plenty. We had a large table in a corner by the window. I had such a generous portion of hashbrowns and I was so happy with it. It’s was reasonably priced for the amount of food you get.

My husband can order his food. All of mine has gf and df marked toothpicks. They have a dairy-free cheese that’s superior to anything else. Open 6am-3pm 7days a week. Everything is made fresh.

So let me start by asking: what happened? I haven’t been here in a while because I moved to Florida, but coming back I was expecting something that apparently has changed. In a huge way. The food. I ordered the chicken and waffle. I was hoping to get a nice breaded and fried piece of chicken thigh covered in a maple creme sauce. That can also be referenced in photos that people have put on Google. Well… that was NOT close to what I got. The creme sauce? Gone. The nice piece of juicy tender thigh? Gone. In its stead is what appears to be a store-bought frozen piece of over-breaded chicken. Now I have heard from others that things have changed here, but I had no idea it would this drastic.

Honestly lives up to the hype! The coffee, the food, the presentation . . . all of it. Can’t remember the Hostess’s name but she was very welcoming and, even though it was super busy, she was on it. Darby, my server was professional, courteous, and really seem to give a darn that I had a good experience.

Also, my husband ordered extra crispy hashbrowns and got raw potatoes and my daughters home fries alternated between raw and burnt.
Connor, the front of house manager is the only thing saving service from one star. If they ever lose him, this ship is going down.
