Terrible! Major let down I don’t know how there are any good reviews. I got the general Tao chicken and it was hard as a rock, completely dried out! The crab Rangoon was filled with cream cheese!!! Haha The sauce was good, but I didn’t order sauce! I will never wast $30 on this place ever again! The spring roll content was slim and no flavor

Vegas Wok is located in the Delmar Loop on a side street called Melville. Since I had already parked in the Loop for my hair appointment, we walked over. The restaurant is a small, quaint spot that’s pretty much quiet except for the sounds of people eating their food. Our food was out within 5 minutes from ordering. First came the appetizers and then our entrees. I ordered the orange chicken combo plate with Crab Rangoon. My friends ordered General Tso’s chicken, Lo Mein Noodles, egg rolls, dumplings and more Crab Rangoon for us to share. When I bit into my first piece, it was piping hot. I had to let it cool down! Once it cooled down a bit, the red chili came through really strong – and a bit too much for my level of spice. I loved that I could see actual orange zest throughout the sauce. You only get two pieces of broccoli and a healthy serving of white rice. I would love to come back and try some more dishes. This was definitely a hidden gem!

This place serves ok to great Chinese food depending on what you order. Much of the food is a bit Americanized. The vegetable lo main was ok.

This is a restaurant that we have visited twice!
Basically it provides both American Chinese food and authentic Chinese food because there are hand-written Chinese dishes on the blackboard. It does not offer large space, but it is so popular among students due to the home style flavor and the fast serving speed!! Tip is really an option here!!
Second, we are much more amazed with our first visit compared to the second visit due to the reasonable price and the specialties!
In our first visit, we ordered the braised beef brisket rice noodles 牛腩米线,and the fried bamboo shorts with shredded pork rice 笋干肉丝盖饭. I have never had the braised beef rice noodles with spicy broth for a long time in the mid southern USA!! So this is yummy with a reasonable price!!
In our second visit, we want to try the pork rib vermicelli 排骨米线 and the dish scallion beef stir-fry葱爆牛肉!They are not impressive at all!!
The vermicelli is the very thin-type rice noodles and the pork-rib has a very slight fishy smell with a bland soup taste! The dish does not offer larger portion with enough beef! We regretted that we did not order the 香干肉丝饭 pork with dry bean curd rice or 红烧牛腩盖饭 Braised Beef Brisket Rice Bowl!!
Overall, I would recommend the beef brisket rice noodles and all kinds of rice bowl, not the scallion beef stir-fry definitely!!!

My first time trying them, and I absolutely love the veggie fried rice and the veggie spring rolls. A little expensive but worth it. They have a small dine in section, which is always clean. But I took my food to go. I will most definitely be trying them again. Also, I’m a vegetarian.

A back alley restaurant with absolutely bussn food! Small and can get crowded quick but the food comes out quick. I had the best lo mein of my life here. The vibe is exactly what you’d expect so you know the food is going to be amazing.

Well I had my usual Chinese craving that always comes at least once a month. It had been a couple days before I could finally get the time to go get some Chinese. Luckily, for me when this time came I was door dashing in U-City, because I came across this hidden gem. The restaurant itself looks very deceiving, but I had read the reviews so I knew better. I ordered the dinner special broccoli chicken and was surprised that I could add Lo Mein instead of the traditional rice as a side. It was $3 more but well worth it. It also came with a spring roll which was the only thing that I wasn’t impressed with. The whole meal cost just under $14 which was well worth it. I also will say this, I ordered carry out and walked quite away back to my car. When I did get back to my car, and went to eat my food, it was so hot that if I hadn’t tested it first, it would have given me 3rd degree burns in my mouth. No joke! I have no idea how they had gotten my food so hot, but it was by far the hottest food I’ve ever experienced and it took quite awhile for it to cool down enough to even begin to eat it. With all this said, this by far was the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten! And I’ve eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants. I believe the gravy the food was prepared in was what made the difference and off the chain delicious. I would highly recommend eating here often and yes as soon as I’m anywhere near U-City I’ll be stopping in to get more food from here. 5 stars all day long!

This no-frills restaurant offers both Americanized and authentic Chinese dishes served with rice. I did see a few noodle soups on the authentic menu also though. It’s definitely got a Chinese following so I was confident in the authenticity.
The food was delicious and prices were fair. We had the pork and spare ribs with potatoes. Both were served with rice. The portions are huge and I made two meals out of mine. My husband ate everything in one sitting.
The restaurant could be easily missed as it’s not on the main loop but a few steps more and it’s right there. This also helps for immediate seating as many of the other restaurants had insane wait times.

Vegas Wok is a hidden gem in St. Louis, serving up some of the best Chinese comfort food around. Their General Tao’s Chicken is perfectly crispy with just the right balance of sweet and spicy, while the Braised Pork & Rice is melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor. The crispy fried chicken is a must-try, and their crab rangoons are some of the best I’ve had—golden, crispy, and filled with creamy goodness. Generous portions, great prices, and fast, friendly service make this spot a go-to for authentic Chinese takeout. Highly recommend!

Well, like other reviews said, if you see a hand written Chinese menu, you know you can find authentic Chinese food here. I’ve been to this place three times, and they never let me down. All foods on the Chinese menu are good. Huge portion, great price.
