A fantastic spot. Contains a delicious combination of Indian, Pakistani and Nepalese food. I would heavily recommend the Momo’s (Dumplings). There are plenty of vegetarian options as well as meat based. Such a beautiful building in an otherwise downtown area of DC. Definitely come by here.

Ate best tadka dal with rice. Ate it as served, too hot to eat. Then, waited for five minutes. Oh goodness, tasted so much better.
Also ate vegetables momo wit sauce, and they were good.

Although I got my order to go, the service was very friendly and the restaurant was warm and well decorated. Food was comforting, very tasty, but a tad sweet.

We were in Downtown DC for 3 days and everyday in the evening I picked up the food from Himalayan Doku and almost exhausted the Vegetarian Menu. Their portions are generous, the taste is delicious and above all the prices are very reasonable. A real Himalayan oasis in the bustling metro of DC and a shout out to the folks there. The atmosphere inside is also very convivial and service impeccable.

We ordered chicken steam momo, chilly chicken momo, goat sekuwa and chicken chowmein. Except for chicken steam momo everything else tasted average or below. There’s a room for improvement! But the location, and ambience and service were quite good.

Came for an early dinner, the service was basic but efficient and the food came out quickly. The curries could do with more spicing and were a bit bland but were good enough. The pani puri starter was the best and most flavoursome part!

This hidden gem has tasty food and great service. We are dairy-free eaters, and they were very accommodating to our needs. We had the channa masala and the daal which were perfect and served hot. We alsonhad pakora (they were ok) with tamarind sauce, shrimp biriyani (yummy), the salmon and tilapia curry, which we added pepper sauce to, per our request, to zest it up to our taste. The portion sizes are large. We will be back again!

I had the most amazing Paneer Makhani at Himalayan Doko in Washington, DC, and I can confidently say it’s the best I’ve ever had—anywhere in the world.
The dish was the perfect balance of smoky and sweet, with a rich creaminess that paired beautifully with both the roti and garlic naan. The portion size was generous enough to easily serve 3–4 people.
The presentation was stunning, with vibrant colors and an aroma that immediately made my mouth water. The taste was exactly what you expect from paneer makhani—comforting, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.
If you love Indian food, you must try this dish. I can’t recommend it enough.
Pro-tip: If you prefer something a little less sweet, ask for a higher spice level—you won’t be disappointed!

I stopped in while passing by and am glad I did. The service was great and the food was even better! Best veg pakora I have had at any desi restaurant and the tandoori lamb chops were fantastic! The pakora were perfectly crisp on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. The lamb chops were tender and juicy, with just the right amount of spices.
