This is such a wonderful little cafe, and is my go to for Mexican food in Las Cruces! The staff remembers their customers here, and greet you warmly when you enter. They remember your go to items and the way you like to order, and they chat with you. The atmosphere is cozy with music, old paintings and warm paint hues. Honestly, this feels more like eating at a friends house than a restaurant. The food is exceptionally good, and at a great value. The cafe is very present on social media and posts their daily specials (M-F) and truthfully, you can eat wonderful scratch made real food here for less than what you’d pay at a fast food chain. My go to orders are the Caldo de Res (pictured), the Green Chile Pozole (look for it on their Facebook as it’s a once in a while item), the Tacos Estrella, the Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas, or the Huevos Ranchero. On Sunday, I’ll often get the Menudo (also pictured), which is restorative, spicy, piping hot and the perfect breakfast! No matter what you get at LNC it’s going to be good, served with a smile and portioned perfectly. Try it out, and if you are visiting Las Cruces, this is a must stop.

We stopped in on a whim around 1 pm on a Saturday. There’s a ton of parking behind the cafe. You seat yourself and then a waiter will come by. Food was great and everything tasted fresh, all at a fair price. Highly recommend the rolled enchiladas and chili rellenos. The taco salad and bean/cheese burrito were ok. Staff were polite and everything came out quickly. Our waitress kept our chips and drinks full! Restaurant was very clean. There is a surcharge for credit, so grab cash before you visit.

Here are two versions — you can pick the one that fits best:
La Nueva Casita Café is my go-to spot for Mexican food in Las Cruces! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and comforting. The green chile is amazing, and the staff treat you like family.
La Nueva Casita Café captures the true flavor of New Mexico with its authentic, homemade Mexican dishes. The food is perfectly seasoned, the portions are generous, and the warm hospitality makes the experience even better. A must-visit for anyone craving genuine local cuisine in Las Cruces!

I am not New Mexican. I’m Californian and more specifically Angeleno. However I have had red and green chile across New Mexico over the past 20 years and the chile here stands out. It’s salty and if I were preparing it I’d use less salt. But it is delicious nonetheless. I also enjoyed a plate of huevos rancheros. The chips and salsa that come before the meal are also fantastic
The place also brings the vibes in terms of interior design and music.
Open since 1957!!!

5 Stars – A Local Gem!
I’ve been to La Nueva Casita a few times now, and it never disappoints—but today’s visit was exceptional. The food was absolutely amazing! The red chile had just the right amount of heat and flavor, and the flautas were perfectly crispy and delicious. You can really taste the love and tradition in every bite. If you’re in Las Cruces and craving authentic New Mexican food, I highly recommend this place. Definitely one of my favorites in town!

Always a pleasant experience. Been a customer for the past 30 plus years. The restaurant is a staple in this community. The food is always good and packed full of flavor. It’s located across from Klein Park if you wish to take a stroll after dinner. 10 stars and highly recommended. Tell them Tim sent you

Went for the first time today and was pretty blown away by the food and the service. We went after the lunch rush so we didn’t really have to wait, and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The free initial chips and salsa were great, and the guacamole was so tasty. I got the huevos compuestas plate with both the red and green chile, and this is the only place that I could say that the red is better than the green. I usually prefer green, but the red had just the perfect amount of heat and flavor. The eggs were also cooked to a perfect over medium. My partner got the chorizo con huevo with flour tortilla. The tortillas came out fresh and hot, it tied the meal up perfectly. We also got the French toast… and it was easily the best French toast either of us have ever had. Our waitress was amazing and so attentive. She made our experience great. We will be back in the future, especially for the red chile and the French toast. Looking forward to what else they have to offer.
