What truly distinguishes the restaurant, however, is its cocktail program—an aspect that deserves special recognition, largely thanks to Kiki behind the bar. Her approach to cocktails goes far beyond simply mixing drinks; there is a clear sense of craft, knowledge, and intention in every glass she serves. Each cocktail feels carefully constructed, with layers of flavor that unfold as you drink. The balance is precise, the presentation elegant, and the creativity unmistakable.
Kiki has a remarkable ability to blend technical skill with genuine hospitality. She understands not only spirits and flavor structure, but also how to guide guests through the experience—whether introducing them to something new or refining a classic profile with subtle but meaningful touches. It’s rare to encounter a bartender who brings both artistry and warmth to the bar in equal measure, yet she manages to do so effortlessly.
In many ways, the cocktails at Deep in Peru become an extension of the restaurant’s culinary identity—bold, expressive, and rooted in culture while embracing modern technique. Thanks to Kiki’s talent and dedication, the bar program stands at the same high level as the kitchen, making the overall experience memorable from the first sip to the last bite. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just enjoy a drink—you appreciate the craft behind it.
This last time I went January 13 was my brother birthday. The service was awful. Completely unwelcoming. We waited almost 15 minutes for drinks. We actually got our food before we got our drinks (picture attached). The restaurant wasn’t busy maybe four other tables. The calamari was so over cooked it tasted like plastic. The waiter was so dry and quick to get us out. Be brought us the check and we weren’t done… we wanted to order more drinks and dessert. He rarely came to the table and when he finally drop the check off he added a 20% tip. There was only four of us and I didnt even order anything.
The pisco sours are amazing.
Overall very disappointed with our experience. I love supporting Latino owned businesses as a Latina but this was very lacking.
Consistency is everything in food, and Barra Brava nails it. Whether I order my usual favorites or venture into something new, the flavors are always spot-on — fresh, vibrant, and unmistakably authentic Peruvian. Today I had the pescado a lo macho, a dish packed with rich, savory flavors from the sea; my wife went with the chaufa de mariscos, smoky and satisfying; my mother-in-law had cau cau (a comforting classic), and my father-in-law enjoyed the arroz con mariscos, every bite bursting with flavor.
The best part? My in-laws are Peruvian, and they swear it tastes just like home. That’s probably the highest compliment a restaurant like this can get.
Barra Brava isn’t just a place to eat — it’s become part of our family’s rhythm. If you’re looking for Peruvian cuisine that’s authentic, consistent, and always delicious, this is where you want to be.
From the moment we arrived, the service was off. We asked the hostess if we could switch tables, and she responded with a rude, snarky comment: “It doesn’t matter because we’ll sit someone next to you guys anyway.” It felt completely uncalled for, as if we were being difficult when we absolutely weren’t.
Then we sat there for over 15+ minutes with no waiter or greeting. When the appetizers finally arrived, the conchas al parmesano were not just poorly made they were disgusting. The scallops were mushy, the cheese was cold and solidified, and the whole thing tasted like the torch they used to “finish” it. We told the waiter, and he didn’t even apologize — just gave an awkward smile and went on.
We waited over an hour for our main course. It was okay, but definitely not worth the price or the wait. What made everything worse was watching multiple tables who came in after us get served quickly and treated much better. By the time we finally received the check — which also took forever we were charged for the awful appetizer they should honestly be embarrassed to serve.
We ended up wasting over $100 for an afternoon that should’ve been special. Instead, it left both of us frustrated, and it’s really sad that this was my boyfriend’s first impression of Peruvian food and our culture. We will not be coming back
The anticuchos were average. The causa was 10/10 the lomo 10/10
U really can’t go wrong tho
Our server was so nice, she recommended us our flight. They were so good, but the strawberry was the best
Their right next to my favorite Cafe so I’ll probably visit again
