Not worth the price. I received all three orders, and the chicken was burnt with small portions. There was more rice and vegetables but less protein.

Got the kalua pig. Had so much salt dumped on it I couldn’t eat it. Legit tasted like someone dumped an entire bottle of salt on it. Could literally see the grains of salt on it. Was completely inedible.

If you’re new, I suggest the teriyaki chicken or pig. Other meats seem to be dry. Spam musubi is pricey but good. The cookies are amazing! I like this franchise but I will say that this location takes forever to make to-go orders. Even if you order online, plan to wait an additional 10+ mins after the given pick-up time!

This location changed the portion sizes significantly. Both times when I went to lunch on my own, and when I catered for my company it was not a lot of food. I had to buy pizza just to fill the rest of the team. The meat portions were for 5 people, when the catering chart says “feed 10”. Other then that I love the food, and I will just go do the location I know that isn’t skimping me.

This was good. I had the plate where you get 3 meats. I had chicken teriyaki, katu (the fried chicken) and teriyaki steak. I also had all rice. The taste exceeded my expectations being I’m from the south and love good food. So I will come back again.
I will say the only negative is there was a bit of a crowd and the girls were confused about orders, so they should work on crowd management more, but when I sat down to eat my food, that was no longer an issue for me lol.

They need to get Mo’ Bettah at seasoning the food.

They do have one strong selling point. Their teri and yeobo sauces pack a punch! Dip a little bit of meat in one, take a bite, and enjoy a concentrated collaboration of sweet and tangy flavors.

And that’s it.

Both the Pulehu chicken and Kaula pig were cooked well. The pig was about average as far as pork goes. It was quite juicy, but its overall flavor was somewhat underwhelming. The chicken was easy to pull apart and had good texture. However, it was just a smidge dry and quite bland! If they put any seasoning on it besides salt and pepper, then maybe, just maybe there was a smidgeon of garlic and chili.

The white rice was cooked with the right amount of water, but otherwise, it was just white rice.

Now the veggies… I took one star off for this! They were a soft, soggy, sad, spiritless pile of overcooked MUSH in the takeout box! They would have been gag-worthy if I wasn’t so hungry! I find it hard to believe they were seasoned with anything else other than some saltwater because they were BLAND! I expect an established chain like Mo’ Bettahs to do a little bit of vegetable magic, but I can make better veggies at home with an air fryer, some actual seasoning, and 20 minutes.

The price you pay for the portions you get is pretty generous, but for the quality, I’d rather go eat In & Out.

If you made it to the end of this review, I suggest Island Grinds instead. It’s literally across the street is much better. For a farther drive, I suggest “Taste of the Caribbean” for a flavor trip to tropical islands, but of the Atlantic variety.

Oh my goodness! SO much food!!!
hubby and I stopped here on our way to the Salt Lake City airport because we wanted to grab lunch first.
Found them on Google reviews and so wanted to check them out. Definitely Hoppin, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We didn’t understand what a ‘regular’ plate meant and it is so much food. We could’ve easily shared one. When the lady asked me if I wanted a mini or a regular size, I didn’t know what that meant. I do now.

The flavors are absolutely amazing. We both had teriyaki chicken, he got the Kahlúa pork and I got the Katsu chicken. All of it was extremely tasty and the macaroni salad is fantastic. Highly recommend stopping in here if you’re in town. Wish we had one of these up in the Portland, Oregon area .

This was my first time to this restaurant. I ordered teriyaki chicken expecting the mediocre. What I received was truly amazing! The chicken was terrifically the white rice was a perfect 10! O rated my overall experience therewith 4 stars. Being a Hawaiian restaurant one would expect warm Hawaiian rolls with maybe some sweet butter covered by the warm rolls. Nope. What I got was macaroni salad. Macaroni salad from a Hawaiian restaurant! Can you believe that?

Do they know how to grill the chicken? Why they didn’t cut off the burn parts. Never come back

We ordered to go meals, and when it came time to pick them up, they weren’t ready, and as I waited over a half hour for my meal. They just kept serving those who walked in over getting the meals out that were extremely delayed.
