The food was absolutely amazing! We had chips and guacamole, chicken, wings, lobster roll, and a salad… The food was not only extremely high-quality, but came out promptly, and the staff could not have been more helpful patient accommodating, and extremely extremely friendly! The owner even came out to speak with us and it was so lively. We had the very best time highly highly highly recommend!

My family threw me a beautiful baby shower at Gates in New Canaan in November 2024. The staff at Gates made this event absolutely incredible. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all 10/10. Chnoo their manager was lovely to work with and made us feel like a priority every step of the way. I’d highly recommend hosting an event here!

Sticky tables.
Bland food.
Disappointing service.

Went here Saturday night for our anniversary.
What a mistake.

Ordered martini. They’re out of olives. Entire bar. Out of olives. It’s 7PM.

Ordered appetizer. Asked for it be brought out BEFORE entree’s. Ya know. Appetizer.
Mediocre wings came out 1.5 minutes before entree. 4/6 wings were actually sauced.

Okay. But how’s desert?

Ordered key lime pie. Menu says nothing about nuts on the key lime pie. Guess what? Key lime is covered in almonds. Wife has an allergy. Have to send it back.

This place needs help. Service was 5/10. Food was 6/10 and overall experience was 3/10.

Go elsewhere. I posted photos. Decide for yourself.

Fix your restaurant. Customers deserve it.

What a fun place to eat and visit with friends. Live Entertainment, we saw Flash perform . Nice menu selections, relaxed atmosphere. They have a bar area with high top tables and another separate area with tables for dining.Parking is a bit challenging. Weather permitting you can eat outside. Great place to meet up with friends. Staff was great.

Take out order. Hard to find the restaurant. Lobster rolls were delicious. Chicken dinner spicier than expected. Didn’t care for the chips but my husband liked them. French fries were cold. Again this was a take out order. Please take that into account.

went there wednesday. the buy one get one burger deal is great, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was pretty good, but a weird experience with a staff member who i can assume was the manager. he was very insistent that we sit on the patio in very close proximity to a family, who very clearly wanted some privacy. then we’re half way through our frozen margaritas (which weren’t mixed very well, all of the syrup was at the bottom) and he takes them away for a “refill,” telling us how we’re getting “ripped off” by the bartender who put them in the wrong glass. overall, the experience was fine, the interaction was just weird and made me a little uncomfortable.

Apparently, there’s a lot of history to this restaurant so people highly recommend it. The food was so so. For instance, I had a chicken wrap supposed to have lettuce and sauce. They forgot the lettuce. What? I have no desire to go back. There are tons of options all around.

TODAY IS JUNE 24th, 2025.

I had called in an order for pickup and I was ordering a rigatoni alla vodka and a Korean bbq bowl and a side of tater tot’s. While I was ordering I was just asking the gentleman on the phone about what vegetables were on the Korean bbq dish and he told me broccoli, “other vegetables” and mushrooms… I asked he could put no mushrooms and just replace them with vegetables and I told him if it was extra that would be okay. And he proceeded to answer me back with a sarcastic tone saying “anything else”. After I asked him to put no mushrooms in the dish and replace them with vegetables I asked if he could make the dish gluten free because I have celiac disease (I shouldn’t have to explain that) after that he proceeded to have that same sarcastic tone saying “anything else” and then I just asked to put an order for tater tots, and he laughed. Let me be clear. EXTREMELY CLEAR. If anyone is laughing at you or laughing about what you’re ordering especially when you are the customer that is extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. As the customer coming to any restaurant, and store, or chain for that matter should not be laughed at… After I gave him my name for the pickup order he said should be ready in half an hour. So I go to Gates half an hour after and the order is not there on the entrance tables and I had to ask for a lady working there and she said give me a second. So I waited. And waited. And waited. For 1 HOUR. My time was waisted and guess what that’s not even the worst part yet, it gets better. After me and my significant other pay for the food pay for the food we head back home in frustration and heat. We open the pickup bag and notice not 10 not 8 but 5 strips of Korean bbq steak on the dish they gave me… And they gave me MUSHROOMS ON THE PLATE. And the tater tots had cheese, jalapeño and bacon on them. Yes I understand that may sound good to you but not when you have both celiac disease and are lactose intolerant… I just wanted tater tots, and I hate to be like this but did I say “loaded tots” NO! . I WAS DISGUSTED, BECAUSE WE PAYED SO MUCH MONEY FOR HORRIBLE QUALITY OF SERVICE AND FOOD! I DIDN‘T EVEN EAT ANYTHING EITHER BECAUSE I WAS SCARED IT MIGHT HAVE DAIRY OR GLUTEN AND WAS UNSURE BECAUSE OF HOW THE GENTLEMAN HANDLED MY ORDER AND DIDN’T BOTHER GOING BACK TO GATES IN NEW CANAAN BECAUSE I WAS EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS.
