In all fairness, this was probably our least favorite place that we ate during in our trip to Amsterdam, but not due to the food. We liked the food, but we honestly felt that the service was slow and even a bit disrespectful at times. We felt that anytime we asked for anything we were seen as a nuisance. 🙁
We all did like our food, though, and we all had some leftovers! Though the experience at the restaurant wasn’t really something we would repeat, especially since it was our first meal in Amsterdam, the food definitely did its job and we had enough for a late night dinner later!

We discovered this gem of a restaurant the last night of our stay in Amsterdam. We would have eaten there every night otherwise!
The atmosphere is super friendly and relaxed, you can dine inside or out. Nice decor and it was fun to people (and bicycle) watch as we had our dinner.
We shared a bruschetta appetizer – the best I’ve ever had. Clean, simple and delicious. I wouldn’t have guessed that the addition of a small amount of dill would make such a difference. The photo shows one of three pieces we enjoyed.
I ordered the spaghetti marinara entree (with some extra sauce) and loved it. The pasta cooked to perfection, the sauce homemade and delicious, with pieces of squid, mussels, shrimp and if I’m not mistaken, octopus. My husband had the lasagna and might have licked his plate if we weren’t in public.
The service is excellent – we were recently in Italy and Michael’s has a real Italian feel. Finish your meal off with a limoncello and you’re set for the evening!

Located just right in front of XO Hotel Park West, this restaurant serves gigantic portions of spaghetti and pizza . My husband and I left the restaurant completely satisfied and went for a walk nearby to accelerate our digestion. Overall, delicious food and good service!

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and I ordered enough for two people just for myself. The manager jokingly commented, “You look hungry today,” which added a lighthearted touch to the visit. In truth, I had just returned from the Arctic Circle after a long day of travel, with over three hours of flights and no meals all day. The hearty portions and excellent flavors were exactly what I needed. Highly recommend this place for its food and friendly atmosphere!

We found this to be a great-little neighborhood restaurant. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The vegetarian pizza set a high standard, according to one of our party. The pasta tasted home cooked and we had a pleasant wine. Service was pleasant and always nearby. And the prices were reasonable. Bravo.
