A Seattle classic! Stopped by Alki Spud for lunch while exploring the Alki Beach area and it totally hit the spot.
2 Piece Fish Only Meal ($16.99) — The fish was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. Nice generous pieces with a light, crunchy batter that wasn’t greasy. The fries were solid—classic thick-cut and well-seasoned.
Cup of Chowder ($4.99) — Creamy and hearty with good chunks of clam. A must-have on a cold Seattle day—pairs perfectly with the fish and chips.
The Special ($24.00) — Great deal if you’re feeding more than one or really hungry.
No-frills, counter-service spot with that old-school fish shack vibe. It’s not fancy, but it’s exactly what you want for classic Pacific Northwest fish and chips. The location near Alki Beach makes it a great stop if you’re walking along the water.
Total: ~$64 for two meals with drinks and extras. Fair pricing for the portion sizes and quality.
However the tartar is worth it, I’d rather get the tartar and go to ivars.
The upstairs has a good view, except the Christmas decor they put up involved writing all over the windows so you can’t see.
They have parking.
There isn’t really service, the food wasn’t that good for the price.
I opted to sample both the regular fish and chips and the halibut, and I was thoroughly impressed by both dishes. The regular fish had a perfectly crispy batter that gave way to tender, flaky fish. It was rich, balanced, not overly greasy, and paired wonderfully with their house-made tartar sauce.
The halibut was also a treat. It was incredibly fresh and had a slightly sweeter taste that complemented the light, crunchy batter beautifully.
I savored each bite, and the portions were generous—definitely worth the price. The friendly staff added to the pleasant experience.
I can wholeheartedly say that it won’t take another 30 years before I return to indulge in this delicious seafood gem again!
I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the fries, however mine were excellent, natural cut style and were not overdone nor soggy or greasy.
2 fish and fries meal was filling and you get a large portion of everything.
I recommend upgrading to the 4oz Tartar sauce for an extra $0.50. It’s well worth it.
The Tartar sauce is amazing as well, probably the best I’ve ever had really.
I will definitely be back, loved everything about the experience!
